New Aberdeen FC stadium recommended for approval
Planners have recommended approval for Aberdeen Football Club's new stadium on the outskirts of the city.
The Dons hope to build the stadium, capable of holding about 21,000 fans, at a cost of up to £40m, at Loirston Loch in the south of Aberdeen.
However, there have been more than 100 letters of objection.

So what are the thoughts? Do Dons like the plans? Is the location right? Are they still making it "glow in the dark"?

I'm still interested to hear who is going to pay for it to be honest. Aberdeen at the moment can't sustain a debt of 10 million so can't see how they would sustain a debt of 20 million after the sale of pittodrie and the new stadium being built. Guess we shall wait and see.

Don#t worry steve it will never happen anyway. Remember it's taking twenty years to try and sort the haudagain rounsabout and the 3rd don crossing. Only in Aberdeen could it take that long

Sounds like a good idea, though, every time I see the dons on TV they don't seem to be able to fill pitt unless the old firm are in town. Will they be able to fill their new ground consistently?

I really only see one thing - decreasing attendances. The area that the stadium is being built is the Stonehaven side of Aberdeen. Fans from further North will think twice before making the journey. Horrible road with horrible traffic
