he was city's best player a couple seasons ago so confused why they sent him to cardiff.
also just go gauge interest with Premier League manager going down the toilet , Would any of consider joining a premier league version of this?

Fergie talking to BBC is headlines
Bet he doesnt talk when they lose a game.
Also, he always says 'Well done Jeff (Shreeves)" on sky when interviewed...annoying because its like Fergie preped him before the interview

Re: Season 2 Homepage
Alright Luke, and everyone else.
I know I disappeared again, just having a difficult time at the moment. Hopefully this time things will be better, would love to remain part of this league.
Just had a glance at scores, people don't know Azpilacueta and Iraola? Iraola currently in Spain squad, Azpilacueta used to be a Barca player.
With the teams, I don't think you could judge until the transfer window closes, I think there should be a couple more, or one more German team in and Lyon personally.

I've never heard of them, Man City might go out in the group stages, Bayern and Villareal there.

Tough draw on paper for City. Should expect them to go through though with Bayern.

I'm not sure on City, they've not had CL experience, while Villareal are used to these challenges.

And he was at the game. Can't imagine what he thought of Pavlyuchenko.
Obviously was nothing to play for but he was poor.

Decent draw for Utd and Arsenal.
City will relish playing against the best I think.

Re: Season 2 Homepage
Ah..
Kam, not impressed at the moment. Losing at home to Cardiff, was a poor result, we should be making Upton Park a fortress. 2 good away results at Doncaster and Watford. But played shocking against Leeds and deservedly conceded late on to make it a draw. The style of football was woeful as well. Losing to Aldershot at home was the icing on the cake. We played a strong team, Barrera, Nolan, Carew, Stanislas... and his excuses were laughable. We had 20,000 there on Wednesday, rightly so everyone booed them off.
The standard of Football has been really poor and we need at least 3 new players if we are to get into the playoffs. We loaned Barrera to Zaragoza last night . Paid 4m for him as well.

I do feel that with your current squad, you would have little trouble but Big Sam has changed the style which he prefers to (hoof and hope) and it doesnt seem to wash with the players and fans.
Big Sam once again out of his depth.
I know he is desperate for the National team job after Capello but with his style, I cant see that happening.

Honestly i cant see him lasting much longer, they might sound crazy. But we have been outplayed by Leeds and Aldershot at Upton Park.
If we dont win on Sunday or at least play well the pressure will grow.
We have players like Nolan, Parker, Noble, Collison, M.Taylor. We should be outplayed at home to Leeds should we? Or am i losing it

Re: Season 2 Homepage
Its mainly the results that are worrying as nobody complains much when you win but if your losing in that fashion, your bound to have added criticism.
Hammers shouldn't be outplayed by anyone as the players they have, they should be dominating the midfield.
Big Sam sacked by Jan 12 I say

Wenger is trying but he is also under orders from the directors to the financial restraints that he needs to follow.
Cahill would have been a good signing.
Arsene should have done a swap deal with Nasri/A Johnson

Re: Season 2 Homepage
Right, time for a proper rant:
First things first, yesterday was a disgrace, both Old Firm clubs are becoming a laughing stock to the rest of europe, and that is justified aswell, clubs of the stature of ours should not be in a position like this. But I feel the press writing the obituaries of our game are fools, plain and simple. Scottish football is in a bad place, but it was in the same sort of position 3/4 years ago, when Rangers were reaching a European final and Celtic were reaching the last 16 of the CL. The problem with Scottish football is the mentality of the players has changed, belief in both clubs seems to have died, and no longer do we see the glass as half full, we now see it as half empty. Only a few years ago, with similar squads to now, Rangers would have brushed Maribor aside, as would Celtic with Sion.
This might sound stupid but we shouldn't see this as a bad thing, if anything it should be a wake-up call, our league needs re-structured, the mentality of the players coming through needs to be changed, our game is suffering, and if we don't re-vamp the SPL and the national game itself, we will never recover from this.
Rant over, Morning all!

To be honest your opinion is justified on this occasion
I fear for the game in Scotland, not for the national team who are looking as strong as they have done in years, but for our league as a whole. We are going down the route of countries such as Serbia, where we have a strong national team but our league is hopeless.

I miss those days too, where we had people like Albertz, De Boer and Van Bronckhorst coming up against the likes of Moravcik and Larsson
And then before that, Brian Laudrup and Gazza

Re: Season 2 Homepage
I think there needs to be major restructuring in Scottish football, more investment. Celtic and Rangers are not what they once were and they both don't deserve to be in Europe. I think the biggest problem is the gap between those two and the rest of the league. As for the Scottish national side, they need a lift, qualifying for a Euro/World Cup.

Investment is definitely needed

I'd certainly say investment is needed yes, but perhaps in the youth systems rather than the squads themselves, take one step back to take two steps forward, that sort of thing has worked for Germany and Holland and could work for us aswell.
I wouldn't see the gap between the league and the Old Firm as a problem however, it isn't a problem for Spain really

What I mean is that it feels like you've just got Old Firm and 'the rest'
The top two don't need to improve each season to secure a top two finish like in other leagues where every season you need to improve to get European football.

definetly Kam, Old Firm games from as early as 4/5 years back were always an occasion of great football and quality games
I suppose OTW, the only thing keeping our squads steady is the desire to get on top of the other There is no other challenge though and I can see your point

It's just that if Barca happened to make a bid for him, he'd love to join. Don't see any more to that story tbh.

I hear Arsenal made a 6m bid for Gary Cahill - a bit low but why should Wenger pay nearly 20m when he is on his last year of contract and by 1st Sept you can snap him up for free?
Tottenham are interested too - no surprise there

Sanchez will be sweating with that story
Still don't know why Barca signed Sanchez to be honest Not only do they have Pedro who is better than Sanchez, but with 25 Million they could have bought someone proven rather than buying on talent

Robben in that Barca team would be immense.
Madrid just dont have the time to give top players time to settle i.e Van De Vaart, Robben and Sneijder
