I'd have to say that the p4p top fighters are all around the 140-147 mark so for me it has to be welterweight...
Cotto, Floyd who will no doubt fight Manny there, Manny himself, mosley who can make it if needs be no doubt..
Margerito if he's still fighting........
Clottey and soon to be Marquez and Khan no doubt....
But you've made good points.......

Width of a fag paper stuff between Super-Middleweight and Light-Welterweight for me, with 168 lb perhaps edging just ahead by virtue of the fact that (so far) more of the division's top fighters have locked horns.
Bantamweight is looking excellent at the moment though, and could be the cream of the crop in the next eighteen months or so.
Oddly enough, the 'classic' divisions are struggling a little at the moment. Heavyweight has picked up in terms of quality recently, but seldom are the 'big' fights being made, while the Welterweights, Middleweights and, to a degree, the Light-Heavyweights are being headed by fighters on the wrong side of thirty-five.
Featherweight has the potential to be interesting in 2011, though. Would love to see Gamboa and Lopez against each other, but that's not a fight I expect to see made, sadly.

Doubt that Marquez can be effective at 140. Clottey is not much cop. Cotto and Marg are past it. I reckon its Bantam.

Have to disagree with you Truss.
Cotto can't make welter any more and has seen better days, and the same can be said for margarito before we even start on his disgrace. Mosley is an old man. Berto is unproven and needs to step up. Floyd is too inactive and depending on what happens in court may not fight again. In my opinion there is only one really mouth watering clash at 147 and that's manny v money.
I agree with D4. In terms of pure talent I'd say feather is the best current division when you look at the fighters at the weight. But bantam is the hottest purely because the best are fighting the best at that weight, so the weight class is thriving. But the best thing is that 118, 122 and 126 are separated by a mere 8lbs, which means there's the possibility of the likes of donaire etc ending up competing at feather. I thinkbweve gone through a golden age in the lower weight classes this last decade and with the current crop that looks set to continue.

I would probably pick LWW ahead of super mid. The super 6 has really helped the division, but looking at it thoroughly it doesn't look as good as LWW. The super 6 is close to finishing. The big fights look like they will happen which is a real plus. The thing is though you can see froch going up to LH, Kessler could be past it, Abraham down to MW, Pavlik stay at MW. I also think bute and ward could very easily be found out as bute is still unproven IMO and ward is very dirty and seems to get a home advantage quite often.
Light welter has talent and youth. Khan will get Bradley later in the year, maidana is still hanging about, Devon Alexander has obvious potential still, Judah could still have some left, matthysse is very explosive. The probelm is how many of them go up to Welter. Domesticly its shaping up very well with frankie gavin, Cook, daws, theoplane and McCloskey.
Feather weight is better than bantamweight IMO as Lopez-Gamboa is one of the biggest fights out there.

Bantamweight is first for me. Followed by Super Middle and Light-Welter.
Featherweight is packed with talent, but the biggst fights haven't happened there yet.
It could easily be number 1 in a year though as it possible there could be a Donaire, Lopez, Gamboa round robin; which is mouth-watering.

Berto, Jones, Mosley, Ortiz; sorry mate.
All a bit 'meh' for me.
Bantamweight is much better at the moment in my opinion. The top fighters all in their prime and fighting each other; with more to come this year.
