Fourie ahead of Robshaw
Can someone please explain to me why Martin Johnson prefers Hendre Fourie ahead of Chris Robshaw?

What I saw of Hendre fourie wasn't impressive at all, when he came on as a sub, i would have expected him to make an impact, he was trundling around the pitch, can't remember him making any tackles or hitting any ruck with intent.
In my opinion a mistake by Martin johnson.

biltongbek, he started today. Do you mean in a different game? Did well-ish and then went off injured pretty early on

He was playing well today, but I do agree that Robshaw should have had more England chances by now.

Odd time to raise this. Fourie was very effective on the pitch today. I do agree though that Robshaw should be hanging around, because the injury situation in the back row is certainly an issue.

Mouritz Botha.
Fourie is decent, about as good as Robshaw, and he's the consistent choice now. Robshaw, who is continually called up to training squads, should get a chance in the next couple of years.

Re: Fourie ahead of Robshaw
this thread is a bit confused....
Fourie started well today and for the first 20 mins was one of the best england players meriting the commentators to say potentially johnson could change his world cup squad to include him.......then he got injured

Re: Fourie ahead of Robshaw
Botha should never be picked again for England. After the WC there are better youngsters.
Fourie actually had one of his best games for England until he went off...
Was he picked due to the injries to Wood and Easter...as i couldnt understand the point of playing him when he wasnt in the WC squad

yes they were rested (apparently Johnson has said they would have played were it a world cup game) and he was called up from outside the squad to cover.
