RWC Player Profile: Yuriy Jusknarev

This is the third in a series of articles documenting players from each participant nations at this years iRB Rugby World Cup with this one focusing on Russian pivot Yuriy Kushnarev.

Russia will be competing in their first Rugby World Cup and Kushnarev will play an important role in how competitive they. Most people will lean on the old Eastern European stereotype when wondering how this Russian side will play in this tournament. Yet this could not be further from the truth for the Bears who have employed a wide expansive game to take advantage of some of their explosive wide players an trying to move away from their weaknesses in the tight. Kushnarev is key to these tactics and easily up to the task of pulling it off. Competent from the tee, his range of passing is top quality and fits this style of play perfectly.
