Have the Steelers gotten lucky against the Ravens?
Suggs says Steelers have simply gotten lucky
In the last eight games between the Steelers and the Ravens, Pittsburgh has prevailed six times and Baltimore has won only twice.
Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs brushes off his team’s 2-6 record against their biggest rival.
Jim Rome asked Suggs on Friday if the Steelers have the Ravens number. “No, they don’t,” Suggs said. “They’ve just been really fortunate. If you’ve seen it, it comes down to one or two plays. Don’t be fooled. Yes, they’ve won. . . . But don’t be fooled. Like people say, ‘Pittsburgh’s won six of the last eight,’ but look at the scores. It’s like one play here, one play there. A lot of those wins [could] go the other way.”
He called the twice-a-year (plus two playoff meetings in the last three seasons) between the two teams a “brawl” and a “grudge match.” As to the upcoming home-and-home series, Suggs told Rome, “This is our year.”

Do you agree with Suggs that the Steelers have just been lucky against the Ravens, or are the Steelers simply the better team in this rivalry?

The Steelers are like any team I think - when your doing well, sometimes the 'luck' goes your way. The Ravens problem is that Flacco is good but hasn't shown he can be great and so far I think he's failed to deliver at key times. Doesn't mean he won't in future, so maybe the luck will change.

The Ravens addressed their needs in the draft, and some astute FA pick ups Boldin will see more ball now Evans has gone to Ravens they added youth to their Secondary and picked up Guorade who is a Pro Bowl Centre, if Flacco can find his receivers then it will be a classic, looking forward to watching the game tomorrow, sure is a good game to kick of NFL Sunday's.

6-2 in the last 8 isn't luck.
The Ravens problem is at QB. Flacco makes Sanchez look like Brady in the postseason.

Steelers know how to win games when they matter, Ravens don't.
Steelers win Sunday and probably win the div

Poor errors by Pittsburgh repeatedly giving the ball away... that said the Ravens were very good today.
Rice ran well, the tight ends made a couple of good grabs and Ngata was dominant up front. Just an all round good team performance

I agree to a degree with Suggs in that in previous contests most of the time it came down to a couple of plays that swung the contest in the Steelers' favor. Not knocking their accomplishment, but even though the record is lopsided, the contests have, in general, not been.

I agree with GSC that 6-2 isn't luck games coming down to just a few plays is just what can happen in football, and is more likely to happen when it's too teams that rely fairly heavily on defense. Having said that it's now 6-3 with the Ravens hammering the Steelers yesterday, as many turnovers as points is terrible the O-line was poor from the beginning and Colon gave up quite a few penalties, while the Ravens O-line looked good and with the help of Leach often gave Flacco plenty of time.
It will be interesting to see what happens the next time they play, this defeat could help the Steelers in the long run or maybe the Ravens have just improved a lot?

I seem to remember another fierce rivalry that ended in a blowout last year. You only have to look at how the Jets responded to know that it could still go either way. That said I did feel that the Steelers had the edge mentally on the Ravens and that is definitely no longer the case. I can see this rivalry becoming far more evenly matched over the next couple of years.

Ravens simply showed up and punched the Steelers in between the eyes. But never mind about the Steelers' discombobulated offense, what I want to know is what happened to their vaunted defense? Non existent.
I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Tomlin lays into them.
