Golf Holidays in Spain - What are the best Resorts
First topic message reminder :
Four of us went to La Torres Golf Resort, Murcia, in March this year. We plated El Valle, La Torres and Hancienda Riquelme courses. Accomodation in the main resort was to a high standard but a bit of a ghost town with probably less then 5% occupancy. All three courses were great, but El Valle stood out and La Torres felt a little tired compared to the others. In summary an enjoyable long weekend and not too expensive.
Anyway. We are planning a return trip to Spain for next year. The range of handicaps is from 1 to 9 so we are looking for reasonably challanging courses which are fun to play.
I would welcome any recommendation and any resorts / courses to avoid.
Thanks in advance for any help.

One I would suggest worth a look is the Atalya park hotel just few minutes down from Porto Banus.Real old fashioned beach hotel ,putting green ,range and tennis club on site.Associated to the two Atalaya courses which are not fantastic but cheap. From there you can pick any of dozens of courses.

We followed up from staying at La Torre, to staying in Roda. Much easier walk to some nightlife rather than the ghost town that is La Torre.
Roda iteslf is a fair test, also in the area worth playing would be Mar Menor, just a few miles from Roda & Saurines de La Torre.

Just back from Murcia and did exactly the same by staying in Roda. Which as you say was much more busier than La Torre and closer to some night life. Played El Valle, Los Colianis, Mar Menor and Roda. Did think that Roda was the worst of the 4 but still a good test although maybe not in as good condition as the other 4.
Absolutely loved the whole week just a pity my golf was pretty gash all week.
