Primetime t-shirt competition
We have another Amir Khan t-shirt to give away to a member of the 606v2 forum. I've had a chat with Adam(hobo) today and he has allowed me to post this up.
In order to win the t-shirt just let us know your favourite fight from the Star Power card and why. We'll have a read of your replies and select a winner on Wednesday lunchtime.
So have a think about it and post your thoughts in this thread!
Enjoy and good luck!

Re: Primetime t-shirt competition
I didn't see it.
However, my favourite fight from Belfast was Kid Galahad's KO1 against 40 year old Paul 'Comedy Exploding Nose' Griffin.
He'd have been better off fighting Brian Griffin.

My favourite was Floyd vs Ortiz because I dozed off a little through some of the others.

My favourite was..... actually, I just loved the whole Star Power card. Only Primetime could have attempted to pull it off, and sure enough they did. Great card, great fighters, great TV and one hell of a great PPV Channel.

Favourite was the main event for the farcical ending and the look on Larry Merchant's face as evinced here:
pure gold.

Has anyone told Union about this thread? He'll be all over it once he knows there's a t-shirt up for grabs.
Course, he's got bugger all chance of winning it...

Re: Primetime t-shirt competition
My favourite wasn't so much a fight, but the impeccable service provided by the Primetime forum representative. If I had to choose a fight it would be the main event because of the unique ending.

Well I'd like the cricket one more........
I actually haven't even seen any highlights yet so I thought selecting one off the card would be a bit disingenuous.

Thanks mate, hadn't seen this thread.
Oh hang on, I did see it, I believe I was the first to comment, thereby meaning my comment will be first into the hat, therefore near the bottom, so when the hand reaches in I have a better chance of winning.

Re: Primetime t-shirt competition
The favorite had to be Morales Vs Cano.
From the start, I knew that Morales was going to be victorious but watching the first two rounds it seemed like an upset was going to be on the cards.
But the scale of class was there for everyone to see once the fight went into the mid rounds with Morales stepping up a gear and Cano seemed a little lost but still game. Even though this fight was a pure scam world title fight, I still enjoyed how Morales broke his man down gradually, leaving his face in a complete mess. It was a bit harsh that the ref or Cano's corner didn't do something quicker to save the lad from what became a horrendous beating, but it was great in the end to see a modern day legend become the first Mexican to win world titles in 4 different weight divisions.
Thank you.

Re: Primetime t-shirt competition
Can you ask Amir to donate 100 free tickets and charter a plane to Vegas as a prize instead?
And my favourite fight was FMJ vs Ortiz. "Protect yourself at all times" has more than one meaning in life, Ortiz reminded me in brutal fashion that if i meet some dirty filthbag again to "protect myself at all times" from future rashes. Without him i may have forgotten to put rubber protection in my wallet for tonight, he may have saved me from contracting something serious from some filthy lass.
Victor Ortiz, thank you. I'm indebted to you

And if that didn't do it can be pretty certain the personality would seal the deal.

Re: Primetime t-shirt competition
My favourite fight was Jessie Vargas against Josesito Lopez. It was a great fight. I hadn't seen Vargas fight before and was interested after Mayweather stated Amir Khan would have to go through him first. Lopez gave Vargas all the trouble he could handle and was coming on strong at the end of each round as Vargas tired. Jessie did look good when he jabbed and moved showing good handspeed. The turning point in the fight for me was when Vargas was deducted a point early in the eight, but Lopez let Vargas clearly outwork him for the rest of the round. The fight was close which was shown by the split opinions of everyone, i scored the fight a draw.

Don't sell your soul Union, sponsorship is the work of the corporate sell out. Do it for the love not the money.

Have to disagree Rowley.
I think Union Cane's Prediction Thread sponsoresed by Vagifresh has a ring to it.

Re: Primetime t-shirt competition
My favourite fight was the one Amir Khan was having with tiredness.
He came in looking bigger than usual sporting a fetching shaved head, he started well, answering back to many questions thrown. But the confidence seemed to lack. Buncey was on the offensive most of the night but also showed Khan too much respect.
Khans work became lack lustre... his speech was slow and I could tell he was tiring, his conditioning not as strong as previously thought.
It was a strange performance. That Khan managed to finish but tiredness almost got the better of him.

My favourite fight was the undercard lightweight fight between Kyrone Butler and 31 year old debutant Cassius Clay.
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=582731&cat=boxer
I wonder why it has taken Cassius so long to make his debut, with a name like that you would have thought that he would have started fighting as soon as he could stand up.
He lost a 4 round UD, but have we seen the start of a new legend?
