Pooly, I spoke to a Leicester TIger coach about that, so it is true, I think they know a little more about it then we do here. They didnt play him at u20 level, there was a news story a while back where Cockerill said the same thing

It's why I tried so hard to get him Nick! Lol. I see where people come from it's just a personal thing tbh. Not bigging up, it's just what I think.

Chris, Manu played U20. I put up the match reports on here the last time we had this discussion.

Is this another "Chris fact" lol....you do know people actually check on here. Still waiting for the Callum Clark most turnovers in the prem backup.....Wink

He was prob grooming you Driver!

Surely someone like Steffon Armitage got more turnovers than Clark?

That's what I'd have thought Nick, but apparently it was Clark - he's very good at turnovers, but had the huge advantage of coming on last 20 minutes, against beaten packs etc. I think its close to impossible to predict no. of turnovers each player does.

Looks like Rougerie, Dusautoir are both out of the QF - big boost for England - sounds as though most of the French players have walked out on the coach, just like the football WC. We have to beat them.

Brian Moore writing in the Telegraph, personally can't believe he's been banned for the game, so many tackles went in that were worse than his and no citing, no ban. I hope England appeal.

"Delon Armitage should be available because the alleged high tackle for which he has been cited is no different to 30 similar tackles in other games and the charge may be a reflection of the International Rugby Board’s private anger over their ball-swapping antics"

Manu's defensive positioning has improved, but he still jumps out of the line looking for the big hit at times though. The main difference is his ratio of making the big hit to missing it is now a lot better than it was, which shows he is learning and picking his moments better.

Seriously how is Armitage banned and Brussow doesnt even get cited for what he did to provoke Paul Williams. He then dived to make Williams 'strike' look 10 times worse. If an England player did this, then I am pretty sure the IRB would implement a hung, drawn and quartered punishment through the streets of Christchurch.

Guys: Jim Hamilton; he didn't play much for Scotland and didn't play vs England....would he be ok to go onto my bench this weekend or should I give him another week.

Also: thoughts on Hayden Smith?

I don't recall Hamilton playing much so it would be fine I reckon. Its the players who've played lots of minutes who will require a break.

Should be fine Prop, I'll be doing the same with Tincu who didn't start all 4, maybe Kelly Brown too.

Chris, had a feeling Falcons would win, they had to really. By reports looked like we were just very disciplined. Wades try was supposed to be good though. Quite excited by our backline which is a bit odd. Got a lovely balance to it and some game breakers in there.

Prop, Vickerman couldnt get a game at Leeds or Newcastle, think he could always be a 7's specialist - big powerful player, but can't see him ever setting the 15 man game alight anymore. I used to have him in my team at the start of the game, but he was never good enough. Incredible 7s player though

Anyone see Guscott's quotes about the England boys, he's such a complete and utter t w a t - can anyone else remember him getting arrested for punching an antiques dealer and the week after getting arrested again for being drunk and disorderly in Bath town centre after a game? Pot, kettle.

Loving the drama in NZ with Carter out. I'm half hoping Slade falls flat as Henry has nobody to blame but himself. They've had 4 years to blood a replacement but never do. Slade had one cap up intill build up, Cruden a few also.

Just watching NZ-Canada game, Slade playing really well and looking at ease (place kicking not the best) and they bring on Weepu at 10 and put him on wing!?!?! Crazy, what does that do for his confidence?

Guildford and Kaino were superb. Slade best game in the AB jersey imo. Kaino easily best BS in WC to date, he is in some form.

When did Hudson turn 29! Thought he was only 23/4!

Apparently Wilko is fit for selection, but Tins very doubtful. Think a Wilko/Flood combo with Tuilagi would be just what we need versus the French, two kicking 10s who could pummel the frogs back into their 22 for the game!

Can't believe Parra is starting at 10, amazing call by ML.

He was going ok at TH, not really tested too much but has held his own when I've seen him. His scrummaging is the weakest part of his game but that will come with time with big Oz as your mentor!

Guys how much emphasis do people put on tactics, got the feeling that a lot of mine were overlooked last week because they were a bit long? Just wanting to see who reads the whole lot, or whether its mostly a case of scanning the teams and then making your mind up from that?

Just wanting to get a general feel as it took ages last week to write out and not really going to do that if they are not read. Cheers.

How do you think the Irish game will go? Wales are on great form, but can't help feel that the Irish have a few more people who can win these sorts of game, BOD, O'Gara and O'Connell.

Will be interesting to see how well Murray goes against Phillips, who has played really well so far - if Phillips can get to Murray and disrupt ball to O'Gara to let Warburton on him then its going to be so close. Looking forward to the battle of the backrows...

Can see an Irish win myself, not sure where Wales can get the upperhand. Looking on paper the Irish backrow will blow the Welsh trio away with all 3 much stronger.....doesn't always work like that though!
