Just out of interest guys, anything you think I could have done different in this game against Mumbai, or are they just better! Would any of your votes been different if Pune had won the toss and got to bowl first? Just interested as I want to know who to sign in the Suplemental Auction!

I think the toss was vital mate and Mumbai won it. Apart from that you's were pretty even.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Match 1 - KKR win
I have changed my mind so many times on this game but I think Kallis would be the difference as the Deccan batting line up lacks grit in the top order (Roy, Bisla and Chipli) and would be blown away by Ishant. Dilshan would try and bat through as the Deccan batting line up gradually falls away before falling to Kallis' bowling which is brilliantly suited to the pitch conditions. In the chase Steyn took the wicket of Gayle early but Kallis played through. A great bit of bowling by Tahir put the result in doubt but Kallis saw them home. In my opinion Deccan could do with someone such as Trott who could add some steel to their batting line up.
Match 2 - Rajasthan Royals win
The Royals batting line up suits the slowish pitch better and allowed them to chase down a large Royal Challengers target. Watson starred with both ball and bat. Vinay Kumar was the week link in the RCB attack on this pitch but Broad was very very expensive as well. The bowling attack let RCB down which was a shame after their batsmen made a great score of 165+.
Match 3 - Delhi Daredevils win
Another close match but the Delhi batting line up just oozes class. Sehwag, Tamim, Warner and little James Taylor were able to deal with the seaming conditions better than the Punjab batsmen were. Aaron was a touch expensive but Anderson and Morkel were the difference makers in the second innings. Morkel had 9 runs to defend in the last over and only went for 7 and so a very tight 2 run victory for Delhi.

I think you'd have had a great chance if you had won the toss.

Mumbai win.Very evenly matched teams but as Liam said the toss is really the key with Malinga in the Mumbai side on a green top.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Match 1 - KKR to win - Toss was crucial, a close game here but I think that KKr bowling first can take advantage of conditions with Bresnan, Harris and Sharma to bowl DC out for 130. However, Steyn and Tahir are inspired and rip through KKR but the lack of another real quality internatoinal bowler hurts DC as KKR just get home.
Match 2 - RCB to win - RCB batting first look to get 180/190 due to some brutal late innings hitting from AB after a good platform has been built by the top order. Scoreboard pressure is immediate from off and Stuart Broad grabs a three for which stops RR from getting to close to the RCB total.
Match 3 - Delhi to win - Low scoring match here, I think that bowling attacks will dominate. Bowling first DD will skittle Kings XI for 110 on a green top with Morkel being the key to the attack. However, all of DD's top 3 will get a start but not go on after a quick 20 and it will be left to Taylor who is used to these pitches in England to guide them home with the run rate not an issue after DD's quick start, but they keep losing wickets and scrape home by 2 wickets.

I really don't rate the KKR bowling attack, don't think it is capable of causing much damage at all.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Joking.
My votes!
Match 1 -Kolkata/Deccan - Dilshan and the impressive Roy hit out early doors against Ishant whilst negotiating a tricky Harris spell and post a good score from the power play overs, after losing a couple of wickets Huusey and Dilshan continue the onslaught and enable Deccan to post a competitive 155 from their 20, Dilshan top scoring with 70.Dale Steyn uses the conditions excellently and dismantles KKR's top order early on, seeing off Gayle Kallis and Tiwary leaving Morgan and Gambhir with a huge task. Spinners contain the rest of the KKR order, and they limp to 140. DECCAN WIN.
Match 2 - RR vs. RCB - Tharanga hits out from the off, accelarating the run rate straight away, Mukund falls early but Shaun Marsh comes in and launches a blitz with Tharanga, never looking in doubt. They're partnership sees the Challengers to a massive 180. In reply, Watson and Dravid see Rajhastan to a great start, but RCB's middle overs strangle the run rate slightly and they fall short by 10 at the end. RCB WIN.
Match 4 - Chennai to win.
Match 5 - Mumbai to win by 5 wickets.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Match 1: Deccan win. Roy and Dilshan get them off to a blistering start against some woeful bowling from Sharma (who's having one of his all-too-frequent off days). Bresnan induces a bit of a collapse but Ohja and Kallis don't do much and Hussey guides DC to a decent total. In response Steyn rips out Kallis and Gambhir, but Gayle keeps going. Tahir acounts for him but Morgan and Pathan make serene progress until Pathan throws it away against David Hussey. KKR then panic a bit and despite Morgan's best efforts end up 5 runs short.
Match 2. RCB win. The toss proves crucial. Batting first RCB rack up a very big score as they have batsmen who will thrive on this pitch. De Villiers plays a gem, and some late hitting from Tiwary and Jadeja gets RCB up to 180. In reply, Johnson gets rid of Dravid early, but Watson bldgeons fifty and is well supported by Sangakkara. However once the pair is seperated the required run rate just keeps on climbing and ultimately RR are bowled out 20 runs short at the start of the last over.
Match 3. no Kochi tactics, but CSK look a very strong side to me.
Match 5. Pune win slightly odd bowling order from MI, with Sammy and Pollard bowling 4 of the first eight, allows Rahane and Valthaty to get Pune off to a great start. Pune then milk their way through the middle and despite fine death owling from Malinga and Gul end up with a competitive 140.
In reply Tait blasts out Luke Wright and Kumar acounts for Kanwar. Sharma and Tendulkar rebuild well for a time but a superb spell from Swann on a helpful pitch rips through the MI middle order, and despite Tendulkar's best efforts they end up 10 runs short.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Just the bowling attack, mate. Your batting is good, but you need more of a cutting edge to your bowling in my opinion.
Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Would Kemar Roach provide that?
Or should I go for another spinner such as Borthwick?

Roach would add a bit of fire, yeah mate, though he can be expensive sometimes. Borthwick would be ok, inexperience would be the only possible issue.

I don't really see Sammy as an opening bowler, more a first or second change type. I'm surprised you kept Gul back as long as you did. I understand you want him at the death, but I'd have probably started with him and Malinga (even if Gul were only to bowl one over at the start).

Has Fists voted on match 5? Wouldn't make much difference I think given that I'm the only guy who's gone for the Pune win anyway (sorry Gregers).
I have crashed to my first (not totally unexpected given the conditions) defeat of the season.

Does itfl's votes effect anything? I.e. can his votes cause a draw?
Cheers MFC And I thought my match with pune would have been closer.
I've got food shopping to do this morning so results will probably go up after lunch. Next weeks matches probably tomorrow or maybe later today.
