The I'm at work thread
So I'm guessing that during the day there will be quite a few of us who are on here whilst trying to avoid working.
So I was wondering what people do for a living and whats thier place of work like.
I work as a claims assessor for one of the biggest insurance companies around and it's a cool job.
I'm currently sat in a huge posh building with a bottle of coke, wearing some battered Converse trainers, a ripped pair of jeans and a Miz " Hello I'm Awesome" T-shirt. It's all good here. On the floor below there is another company and they all wear business suits and look miserable. They also look at me like I don't belong in the building, I love it.

Re: The I'm at work thread
I'm an Engineering Recruitment Consultant. We're a fairly small company, but the business has been established for over a decade.
I'm sat in a renovated house that has been turned in to an office. Surrounded by people some of which I can't stand. I enjoy my job and love the fact I can waste so much time on here instead of working. I also love the fact that it gives me material to fill my blog with vitriolic posts about my colleagues!

Re: The I'm at work thread
I am currently unemployed due to redundancy.
I was a investment specialist for a pensions firm up until June last year.
I went to a final interview for a job on Tuesday (find out today) - it was an assessment day with 5 other candidates in for the job. 5 of us were unemployed and the other was an internal candidate.

I’m a marketing co-ordinator for a company that provide revision material to doctors and med students. Been there for just coming up to 5 years. Great place to work about from the complete lack of eye candy in the office. Most people are in their late 40s/early 50’s.

I'm a civil servant in a finance team for the Home Office. It is as unglamorous as it sounds, but there is eye candy and ample opportunity to skive on the net - what more could you ask for?
Hobo, if you talk about Hero's boss again I'll be modding you. It only ends badly!

Re: The I'm at work thread
same industry as you Big Daddy,
i work for a national insurance broker insuring estates for clients with far too much money.
They are all Lords, Sirs, Viscounts, Earls etc, you get the idea, people who own loads of land and properties with farming enterprises.
Been an insurance broker for 9 years now, and working towards a managment role of the newcastle dept and currently doing my CII exams.
Working as an assistant to a divisional director has its rewards come pay reviews lol.

Work for an IT company as a helpdesk analyst, basically working with our clients and our engineers to make sure everyone is happy. Pretty chill out job most of the time really, but I work with a load of lazy pricks so doesn't help!

That's a lot of swimming Madrox. Do you have fins? :606laugh:
I've done a bit of swimming myself today (very hot...in fact, scorching hot). My gills are waterlogged.
Lucky I 'work from home' and can give myself swimming breaks. You should see some of the eye candy on the beach today. I was floating like a piece of driftwood in the milky warm water and didn't want to come in.
