He may not yet be feeling it but, being realistic, the pressure is now well and truly on."
Indeed.
We must have a decent 6 nations - finish in the top half at least. The team underperformed at the world cup - the players are better than that. We can see this from Edinburgh and Glasgow results.

We must have a decent 6 nations -although it would be a miracle if we finish in the top halfat least. The team underperformed at the world cup - but the players aren'tno better than that. We can seethisthe robocop is much easier going than the world cup from Edinburgh and Glasgow results.
There you go
Wumming aside wasnt Haddock sacked for consitently failing to deliver the 2 wins target? The breif period of Scotland actually being a good side is clealry over, they have gone backwards. I cant see that another poor tournamnet ( 1 win or less) will leave him being given a "do or die" target for the next 6Ns. You can forgive any 6Ns side a poor summer tour and AI showing, but its against each other you can measure progress. Robinson needs to deliver some results, especially if hes able to poach Visser and has gifts like Grey dropped in his lap.
Its about time Scottish rugby stopped being crud. I dont mean that to be rude ( for once) but its kind of helpful for the comeptition if theres a real possibility of any side winning the thing. Ill forgive Itlay, but Scotland used to be capable of it.

Well we should be able to take some optimism from England, who won the last 6 Nations without having to be very good.

Interesting interview with Toonie in the Scotsman: Gregor Townsend - have to be honest and confess that his responses do not fill me with much confidence

Thats kind of the point though FES. Scotrland dont win games, except a few "so long as we beat England"consolations. Frankly both teams have been repsonsible for some of the worst games in recent 6 nations when playing each other. If they cant even get victories when the opposition is cr@p what does that say about them?
Under Robinson Scotland have 2 wins and 1 draw from 2 6Ns. If Robinson were being held to the same standard as his predecessor he would be under extreme pressure to deliver more for this years.
Its never going to be easy for Scotland because of the limited resources available but to not have put a side out thats lived up to its potential for the 6Ns since 2006 is pretty depressing and not good for the competition. At least England managed one good tournament in that time....all the other major nations had a GS and Italy a 2 win season.
All the talk of dark horses hasnt been backed up with results where it matters, and for the most the performances havent meritted better results. Scotland should be capable of producing more.
Please beat Ireland, France and Italy this year.

PSW, I guess that Robbo's saving grace is that he has claimed several SH scalps, unlike his predecessors

Alternatively it could be argued Scotland's results no more reflected Glasgow and Edinburgh performances in 2010-2011 .
11th and 8th in the Magners and nowhere in the HC.
There are 2 ways to look at this.

4th and 6th the season before (still nowhere in the HEC), but still in the bottom two of the 2010 6Ns

Scotland will usually be pretty difficult to beat, but don't have enough firepower to put sides away, even if those sides play poorly (as England did against them in the world cup and the 6 nations). You can play badly against Scotland for 60 minutes and then just take your chances when they come.
I think you're half right there mate. In both those England games Scotland put England under a lot of pressure and then got tired/slack, which gave England the chances they needed. I would definitely not say it was a case of England played bad and then just casually took their chances at the end of the game. England couldn't play the way they wanted to because Scotland were putting the pressure on. Robinson has said it several times now, Scotland have to close out games and play the full 80 minutes.

Scott Johnson? Why oh why? Does not seem like any sort of a sensible decision to me. Can they not find anyone but a failed never has been?
