Amazing how this subject has died down for so long and all of a sudden Terry, Suarez and Blatter have been mixed up in a matter of weeks.

Re: Homepage
Where racism exists, and it does in society and as such within football, it needs to be stamped upon. Society is a more difficult proposition but football can take a stance by giving guilty players long bans (fines for top players are irrelevant).
The point missed by both Blatter and Poyet is that there should be a zero tolerance policy towards racism. They are advocating ignoring it if it isn't too bad. Simply the wrong message to give. Having said that I don't think either Blatter or Poyet are racists, just totally not understanding the depth of the problem.
The only thing I could possibly say in their defence is that one problem I think we have is that some people cry racism too easily (sexism and other 'isms likewise), often in the heat of the moment since they know it will get the accused into deep trouble. In such cases there may be either no intent but a comment which could be misconstrued or there is nothing there at all. Whenever things like this arise there is often so much hysteria created that it becomes difficult to determine genuine racist cases and those that are not at all. False accusations do no good to the fight against racism at all imo. A bit like women who cry Cuddle in a bad way to spite a man when nothing of the sort happened at all. Doesn't help the cause of genuine victims at all.
The Suarez and JT cases are good examples if you believe Evra and JT stories. Evra claims Suarez called him the N word several times. For me this is genuine racism. If true, Suarez should have the book thrown at him. JT says he thought Anton Ferdinand had accused him of calling him a F... B... C... and asked him as such, in which case the offensive term is a quote, not abuse. Of course if JT is telling pork pies here and he did simply call Ferdinand that name then he needs the same treatment as a guilty Suarez should get.
Anyway, that's all a bit deep really. Sad such issues have re-surfaced. Thought we were getting past that sort of thing.
What are everyone's thoughts on the weekend matches then? Can Newcastle hold Citeh? Will United win at Swansea? Will Chelsea vs Liverpool have some excitement for a change?

Kenny Dalglish is unbeaten in all 11 previous matches as Liverpool manager against Chelsea in all competitions - winning eight and drawing three.
That doesn't bode well.

Re: Homepage
Afternoon guys.
Cheers for that link Luke:
' A few years ago this would have been a lower league clash, played in an awful stadium with no flair or technical skill on display. It would've been dour and dull and uncultured and probably won by the odd goal from a long ball. And finally that fantastic prospect has reached the Premier League.'

Hoping Arsenal win but Van Persie doesnt score
Hoping Spurs lose (as always)
Hoping Chelsea draw with Liverpool
Hoping Man Utd draw/lose
Hoping City lose 4-3 but Aguero hat-trick
What are the chances of that happening?
You probably figured out my fantasy team too

Re: Homepage
Afternoon Guys.
So here's the deal. I have handed my notice in at work, and will be leaving on Dec 23rd.
I am going into my Mum's business of training teachers/volunteer workers in Child Protection - and therefore will not be able to run the league any longer. My activity in general will drop right down.
I am happy for someone else to take the reigns. This league doesn't really seem to have captured imaginiations as I may have hoped - but whoever takes over the running of the league will obviously have the deciding say in whether we carry on, start a new fantasy league or whatever they choose.

Hmm not sure who will be committed enough to run this league, maybe someone might do something different, but the signs aren't good..

I think this week shows that people aren't that keen on the league, which is a shame. Seems to be a trend across 606v2 at the minute..

I'd offer to help operate some pages of a league but not to run it fully myself.

Re: Homepage
I think the league idea is a good one but I feel that activity has been limited for a number of reasons that I don't really know. I do think that an injury transfer allowance would have stimulated activity more.
Besides that, thanks Luke for the league and good luck with your new job.

Re: Homepage
Realistically, there are only 6/7 managers that are active consistantly - that's not enough to continue a league or warrant starting a new league. So unfortunately I think our 606 days may be numbered!
