Afternoon
Just wondering Luke, could you check my result again? Think I've got a 2-1 win:
8 goals - 11 goals / 8 games = 1 goal - 1.375 goals = 1-1
1 win - 4 wins = 3 more wins for extra goal - 2-1

What do people think the England side will be tonight?
Wellbeck seems to have pulled out.
--------------- Hart ---------------
-----------------------------------
Walker --- Cahill --- Terry --- Baines
-----------------------------------
-------- Rodwell --- Barry ---------
Walcott ------------------ Downing
------------- Sturridge ------------
------------- Zamora --------------
Looks quite decent...?

Yeah think it will be similar to that, should make for a good game quite a young exciting team. Zamoras a bit of a strange one really but he's decent enough.

I read Sturridge will be on the bench as well.
Perhaps Milner in the middle. I think it was that there will be 8 changes from the game against Spain starting XI.

Wellbeck was due to start, hence why I put Sturridge in. I'd like to see Sturridge start.
Or it could be Milner/Lampard/Jones....

2nd half was dull, 1st was alright. Rodwell really should of scored and Jones was unlucky. Good performances from Walker, Baines and Downing...

Re: Homepage
Morning guys.
Another good result last night. Not too sure how much it really tells us since who knows how bothered either Spain or Sweden were. Certainly Spain look a little disinterested, they barely scraped a draw away to Costa Rica last night. Who can blame them after winning both Euros and WC in the past few seasons. Bound to lose a little focus especially for friendlies.
Still, wins are better than losses so hope some of the younger players get their chance next summer. Use that to give them valuable experience of a top tournament and build the WC in 2014.
I see Rosell has been mouthy this morning. Makes me laugh. He says the PL needs to cut down to 16 clubs yet he is head honcho of a club which plays in a 20 team league itself. Hmm. Then he makes noises about wanting Bale but says he's not worth £34m. Don't bid for him then. Simple as that. I can feel another Fabregas saga coming on. The only difference is Fabregas always wanted to go back to Barca. Bale would be tempted I'm sure but may be loyal to Spurs.
Up for deals as well btw. Any thoughts Pull on where we got to?

Morning Guv.
We should definitely have won by more goals last night, definitely had the feel of a friendly. Good to see the young players getting a chance although i cant see some of them going to the Euro's.
Yeah Barcelona and in general, the Spanish clubs, really annoy me sticking thier nose in to everything for no reason and then hinting about players, almost tapping them up.

Re: Homepage
It is tapping up imo. I don't really see the difference between making direct contact or indirect via putting out their interest via the media.
I think the CL is about right atm. I like the Tuesday and Wednesday matches inbetween weekend PL fixtures. If the PL was reduced in size to allow CL matches at the weekend it would detract imo. What about the clubs not in the CL? They wouldn't have a match every other weekend or so. Naff.
All down to greed of the individual clubs who want a European super league. Personally I think that would kill football as we know it. People would get bored with that. The local rivalries at home are important.

Re: Homepage
Afternoon all
Barcelona are trying it again.
Spurs should do Modric and say a huge price and see if they really want him. Arsenal were unfortunate that Cesc openly admitted to wanting to go back without doing a 'Tevez'.
Hope Spurs knock anything back from them.
Barca are now realising that Madrid have gelled and will fight them all the way this year.
I think Madrid will win everything this year.
Ozil is becoming more influential whenever I see him play too

Re: Homepage
What are O2 offering for the Galaxy S2? You can get one free with Orange for £33 / mth (£38 for the first 4 months since they force you to take out their insurance (mis-selling anyone?) but you can cancel that after 4 months leaving £33).
The iphone 4s is ridiculously expensive unless you're willing to stomp up £50+ per month.
Agreed re Euro draw. We play better against better teams. The French are no great shakes these days anyway.

Cheers Guv
Im leaning towards iphone 4s, 600mins, 500mb unlimited text and WIFI
Phone costs £99 and the contract is 18 months. £35p/m too
I like the Galaxy S2 but the apps on apple are better I feel.
I do think that France could be an underdog if they get their act together

I have a Galaxy S2, theyre quite good.
I'm that fussed who we get. We will struggle, but hopefully sneak through the groups and from then on anything can happen. Hopefully Rooney will cxome back and lift us, that could help us get further than we normally do.

Im not that optomistic
Sweden were very poor and the less I say about Zlatan, the better.
England need to be more solid at the back and more clinical infront of goal too

Ibrahimovic was awful last night, so surprised. And also disappointed because on his day, he's one of my favourite players in the world to watch.
I think were alright at the back, not brilliant but pretty good. Going forward we need to create more clear cut chances. But havign said that we have no Rooney, Wilshere, Young, Gerrard etc even the likes of Cleverley are creative. The midfield 3 yesterday was very negative i thought. And upfront Zamora is never going to be a prolific goalscorer at this level, i dont really know why were bothering bringing in a 30 yr old.

Re: Homepage
He's basically a better version of Heskey.
I think 4-3-3 is a must but not sure on personnell.
GK is sorted of course, Hart by a mile.
RB- for me Richards is the best we have definitely, although Walker does impress me too. Jones and Smalling can both play there but it isnt there best posotion. And Johnson isnt good enough IMO. So Richards or Walker.
CB- Terry is captain, then maybe Jones/Cahill really with Jagielka/Lescott/Ferdinand backup. Difficult to choose...
LB is obviously Cole.
CM for me Parker, Wilshere then Lampard/Gerrard... NOT Barry...
WG- Hardest to choose, Young and Milner/AJ for me with Walcott/Downing on bench...
ST. I would go for Bent as best goalscorer without Rooney, with Welbeck/Sturridge for the future.

That would work.
Prefer Wallcott as an impact sub but not as a winger
I hope AJ starts on the right as he is good on the ball and direct although Milner is more of a grafter and can work his socks off

I thought Johnson had a decent game against Spain and Capella was justified in his pick. RB like wing is a position we have a lot of choice in.
With Rooney not available we really need gerrard fit and firing.

Kamran the apps on the iPhone aren't as good as the Galaxy S2. I have a Galaxy Ace (the one before the S2) and they are brilliant. Don't forget iPhone apps are just for iPhones but the Samsung apps are for all androids, a bigger choice.

Blatter is a muppet. I think he was trying to say that it was all heat of the moment stuff and not racism per se and he may be right in a lot of cases but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen and it doesn't make it acceptable.
And morning btw.

I don't believe in heat of the moment stuff to be honest.
It all depends on a person's character and what vocabulary they use too.
Everybody rants and raves but not everyone uses racist slurs as its not in them.
Anyway, trying to decide to who choose as captain this weekend...Rooney away to Swansea or Aguero at home to Newcastle?

You're right mate. It is either in you or not. Most would use other terms of abuse like C... or whatever. I assume Blatter was thinking that people tend to pick out the most obvious physical feature of a person when angry and throwing insults, like fat git, bald git, short git, ugly git or in my case incredibly good looking git! It's only a tiny step to use terms that are racist in nature I guess. All very sad imo.
I'd go with Aguero personally but I'm not doing very well so probably best to go with Rooney on that basis.

I want to go for Rooney but Fergie is playing him out of position behind the forwards (Messi role) and he isnt amongst the goals.
Even though it is Swansea, Im not too sure if Utd can smash them.
I think City at home could be more ruthless.
I saw the highlights of Germany's dominance of Holland and it was very impressive.
