A Challenge for England Fans
Select your England 23 to face Scotland in the opening 6Ns with the following 3 rules:
1) You are not allowed to select a player from the club you support
2) You are not allowed to select a player who is at a non-English club.
3) You are not allowed to select a player who is definitely out for the season (ie Wigglesworth/Crane etc)
My 23:
Cobisiero, Hartley, Stevens; Lawes, Attwood; Wood, Easter, Seymour.
Care, Hodgson; Sharples, Barritt, Simpson-Daniel, Ashton; Foden
Doran-Jones, Grey, Wilson, Robson, Robshaw, Simpson, Farrell, Armitage.

Re: A Challenge for England Fans
I support Newcastle, so it's as you were.
I'd basically pick the same pack as you, with a couple of exceptions, Carl Fearns for Easter and possibly Steve Thompson for Hartley.
In the backs I'd pick the same as you, except:
Youngs (if fully fit) in for Care
Flood in for Hodgson
Tuilagi for Simpson-Daniel

"I support Newcastle, so it's as you were"
You beat me to it marra....
"2) You are not allowed to select a player who is at a non-English club."
Does that mean Sarries are out aswell....
1:Corbisieru 2:Thompson 3:Cole
4:Lawes 5:Attwood
6:Robshaw 8:Easter 7:Wood
9:Youngs 10:Flood
12:Barritt 13:Tuilagi
11:Sharples 15: Foden 14:Ashton
16) Fearns
17) Stevens
18) Grey
19) Marler
20) Care
21) Armitage
22) Wallace
23) Robson / Launchbury / Another young SR
The bench is top heavy with forwards, but i think we need to identify soon if the likes of Fearns, Grey (quins Hooker), Wallace etc can cope at this level...and rather than starting ...coming off the bench about 55/60 mins will give them a run out.

Re: A Challenge for England Fans
hehe, its a lot easier when you're a Falcons fan innit?
1 - Corbs, 2 - Thompson, 3 - Stevens
4 - M Botha, 5 - Shaw
6 - Wood, 8 - Waldrom, 7 - Wallace
9 - Simpson, 10 - Flood
12 - Banahan, 13 - Tuilagi
11 - Monye, 15 - Armitage, 14 - Ashton
16 - Lawes, 17 - Croft, 18 - Marler, 19 - Hartley, 20 - Youngs, 21 - Foden, 22 - Allen, 23 - JSD
(Forgive me the Banahan inclusion, I just think he's massively underated and given a real go might just prove a lot of folk wrong).

Think the 22 man match day squads will still apply by the time the 6N rolls around.

5.Robson
6.Wood
7.Robshaw
8.Easter (c)
9.Care

12.Barritt
13.Trinder
14.Ashton
15.Foden
Bench; Grey, Wilson, Shaw, Seymour, Simpson, Hodgson, Short.

You really don't like Owen Farrell do you!.
I think he's a talented young player, then again I think Freddie Burns at Gloucester and George Ford at Tigers are talented young players as well. Currently they are only ready for Saxons level rugby as all have glaring weaknesses in their games but seeing as they 20 or under that isn't really a concern. They'll come good I just wouldn't put any of them in front of the aggressive Scottish defence.
