Movember - How are they coming along?
First topic message reminder :
Movember (a portmanteau of the slang word "mo" for moustache and "November") is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November.
In the spirit of trying to lift the forums spirits, I thought it would be nice to support a charitable cause.
Movember is a charity movement that started in Australia to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other health issues with men, where the men all grow moustaches in November, hence it's called Movember.
There is also something that mainly happens in Wales where men "grow a Grav" (a Grav is a beard named after the late great Ray Gravell) and it's to raise money for the Wales rugby players Association and Gravell's charity.
So although we are not asking people to give to these charities (although obviously please do should you wish), why dont you show your support of the cause by growing a tash in November.
And then post a picture of it on here.
At the end of the month, we will get a voting committee together to vote for the best one and award the accolade of "Mr Mo v2 2011".
I will even try to rustle up a prize for it - no promises though.
Let's see those taches!

Maybe in a couple years time when she remembers my face rather than my beard.
Congratulations on the birth of the lil one.

Congrats mate.
Did a similar thing - grew a full beard earlier this year, was also going for the long floppy rock & roll haircut (being black haired & olive skinned I looked like a cross between Rasputin and Charlie Manson - not a good look) but when I lost the beard and got a haircut it took my son who was about 8 months at the time nearly 3 days to accept it was me and actually come near me! Really freaked the poor little fella out!

Yeah - Strange how even though you accept that there must be big changes in your life - theres always little things that you didn't consider that play a part.
The woman in the maternity bed next to my wife - asked her husband to take off his shirt and hold the baby to his chest to bond with it. It end up trying to suckle on his moobs. I bet he wished he'd drawn the curtain fully because I started laughing very loudly.

Asking a mustachioed man if he’s doing Movember is like asking a fat bird if she’s pregnant.

Being that you're from Tallaght I'd say it's assumed you are one.

Well I think it's only fair that now he's taken the picture, you should let him out of your bathroom Cari..... Come on, you know it's the right thing to do, just unlock the door and let him go.....

Richie McCaw's 'tache is coming along nicely
I managed to get mine displyed on Sky Sport on Sunday - I was at the England vs NZ netball game in Liverpool and got picked out of the crowd at 3/4 time for a quick fan sound-bite.

Re: Movember - How are they coming along?
Well this is my effort, I'm sure it would look far more impressive if it weren't so feckin grey, it looks like I've been in an explosion at a pepper factory.
It's been doing my cake in for 30 days so I'm up at 6.10 in the morning as I have an appointment with a Wilkinson's Sword.
See you all again next year Mo-Bros.
Badgeees? Badgeees? Weeee dooon't need no steeenkin Badgeees!

Re: Movember - How are they coming along?
I will be keeping mine for just one more day, there’s a moustache party on tonight (never thought I’d say that) and I got a free ticket for raising 100 sheets.
How much was your final tally by the way lads? I managed €101.66 (damn split donations!).
It’s not bad going, and with the amount of hair I actually grew I estimate it at about 75c per hair

Well I am at around £200 for mine. Still got it going as going to the rugby on Saturday. Will likely get rid of it on Sunday though
