Movember - How are they coming along?
First topic message reminder :
Movember (a portmanteau of the slang word "mo" for moustache and "November") is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November.
In the spirit of trying to lift the forums spirits, I thought it would be nice to support a charitable cause.
Movember is a charity movement that started in Australia to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other health issues with men, where the men all grow moustaches in November, hence it's called Movember.
There is also something that mainly happens in Wales where men "grow a Grav" (a Grav is a beard named after the late great Ray Gravell) and it's to raise money for the Wales rugby players Association and Gravell's charity.
So although we are not asking people to give to these charities (although obviously please do should you wish), why dont you show your support of the cause by growing a tash in November.
And then post a picture of it on here.
At the end of the month, we will get a voting committee together to vote for the best one and award the accolade of "Mr Mo v2 2011".
I will even try to rustle up a prize for it - no promises though.
Let's see those taches!

It's Choptober, disappointingly Cariadwr, and the Chiefs' players have been hard at it - some impressive mutton on display so farCari wrote:So...are you guys going to do C0cktober (as mentioned above)?

Well I have been forced by work to have a monkey tail.
We all picked out of a hat and we are going to display them on the 25th.

Photo was taken as I was packing my stuff to leave for Uni, which explains the mess and my grumpy and frustrated demeanor. I shall change it into a happy one then. :P

Good luck gents, 13 of the guys in the boozer did it last year although I was only one of 5 to last the whole month, I went for the Brenden from Hollyoaks look in the end although it was longer than that to start with
We raised just over £2k between the 13 of us, I'm not doing it this year it looked and felt horrible but sponsored the lads that are doing it this year
All the best

Day 5 of Movember and everybody at the council is hanging in there! I must admit I have never tried to grow a 'tash' before. It should be interesting!
By the way, Wanguary is the official month of walking around with your little trooper hanging out!

If you want to join the 'AOC Mo Bros', you'll go into a draw to win some great prizes.

Quality! I'm full (well full for my standards anyway) beard at the moment. I'm not allowed a tache until after next fridays night out. Then it'll be shaved into some sort of handlebar effort. Pic to follow then...

Here you go folks - I had to shave it on the 5th November and start again, so this is 1 day short of two weeks.

The soup strainer is coming along nicely, even though I've cheated and have a goatee with it at the moment. Pictures will be up in the last week of November so that all can see it in all its glory!

Re: Movember - How are they coming along?
I trimmed my beard on the previous friday after the birth of my daughter on thursday - and she started crying when I picked her up so with great regrets I won't be taking part. Shes only a week old - don't want her having a heart attack!
Maybe in a couple years time when she remembers my face rather than my beard.
