so busy I forgot to put a question mark on the end of my last post.

(got up Sunday 7am... went to bed 2pm Tuesday. Awake for 55 hours! Tender submitted yesterday at midday. Slept exactly 12 hours, got up 2am, 4am now. Have to pick up 2 Japanese engineers from airport at 8am then drive them out to St Marys which is at the foot of the Blue Mountains)

Yes, all went well thanks. Their English was OK... I managed to get through it. It's hard to pick up every word when your ears aren't used to their pronounciation though, isn't it?

I've not watched the ODIs but know they've won fairly convincingly. Has Strauss played a big part?

Wasn't picked , KP opened and got into some good form as was Cook . Strauss not been in the best form for awhile in the tests , think if he wasn't captain he would of been dropped . What do you think ?

Yeah, hard to say. Maybe another series then if he is going nowhere...

Yes id say 32 / 33 not sure , he does seem to lead well so they may stick with him for the home test series . But if he doesn't perform with the bat then personally i think he should be dropped ...... dont think the selectors will listen to me though do you ?

I'm all for the best in form player to be selected for each position but heavily weighted towards experience... i.e. longevity in the side.

If there's a certain standout opener or top order batsman around... then he should be putting pressure on Straussy to stay in the side.

A bit like with Oz. With injuries, retirements - we had to look to younger less experienced players. They fail too sometimes but you have to stick your neck out and blood the replacements... whether now, in 6 months or in a year or more. Is that a risky thing to do?

I think thats the thing that is keeping him in the side the fact there doesn't appear to be someone ready to step up and replace him . We i cant think of one can you ?

No, I'm way out of the loop when it comes to County Cricket. I've no idea who's doing well and who isn't. What about Carberry? Too old?
