Joe Frazier may be gravely Ill.

As you can see my source is FOX, so it might not be the most reliable, but I've read in a few places that Smokin Joe is suffering from advanced liver cancer.

If it's true then thoughts go out to the great champion and his loved ones.

Sad to hear, one of the coaches at my amateur gym had the pleasure to meet him earlier this year, hope he recovers well.

Regrettably there are now several articles on the internet which appear to confirm this. Surprised more hasn't been heard already. Desperately sad news.

Gutted at this news. Met him about 6 years ago when he just walked into my local with his son Marvin. Bloody stidents were acting up and showed no respect to a living legend. A few of them got clipped invite process.

But both father and son Frazer were a pleasure to speak with. Gentlemen, truly.

The passing - or imminent passing - of a true legend who has been a household name for so long is always sad, but that a once magnificent athlete of extraordinary courage and no little dignity should be struck down and ravaged by so dreadful a disease is particularly cruel and incredibly sad.

This one genuinely hurts.

Like Windy said, this is a truly upsetting story. Seems as if Frazier has had a fair few hardships since hanging the gloves up, but in every television interview I've seen and every article I've read on him in his retirement, he's always seemed to carry himself with class, never feeling sorry for himself and most of the time with a smile on his face, too. Can't think of too many other boxers who command my respect the way Smokin' Joe does. Sincerely hope he gets through this.

Read this story on BBC and the Ring this morning. Truly upsetting to see/hear a man fighting for his life. I saw that he moved into a hospice which is never good news and as liver cancer is very aggressive I think we all know what the next bit of news will be.

I wish him the best.

Was watching the Frazier v Quarry fight. Two great warriors in their time. Its sad Quarry suffered terrible brain damages before he died. Its always sad to hear about things like this. Hope Frazier pulls through but he is an old man all the best to him and his family.

Absolutely terrible news, and my thoughts are with Joe, his family and friends at this time.

Had cancer laced up the gloves and offered to decide their battle inside those ropes then I've no doubt Joe would have obliged, and who would have backed against him, but it is so cruel that a man of such bravery and courage should be struck down by that which operates in stealth and doesn't make it a fair fight.

Praying for a miracle is what a close source has said,awful news and thoughts with Smokin Joe, great fighter and has alway's come over as a decent bloke as well.

An hour ago it was said that Joe had passed away and Wayne McCullough, Lou Dibella and other people all paid their respects via Twitter and Facebook. It was even updated on Wiki and Boxrec (who have now retracted it) but apparently its not true thankfully and Joe is still alive and fighting

Boxrec still have him as dead.

I've just heard that Joe has died. He seemed a decent guy who was given a lot of verbal crap by Ali.
