Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
He's been banned yet again for a dangerous tackle. That's his 4th time this year. Is he becoming a liability??

yep!
If he keeps it up i can see him being shipped out, not sure who would want him.

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
What has he had so far this year. By my count, including this 5 week ban, he is up to 17 weeks of bans? Someone correct me if i am wrong?

Some of his bans have been deserved.
This one is a farce. he has been banned due to his reputation rather then the actual tackle which is quite frankly a disgraceful way to run a disciplinary procedure.

Not a quick learner is he?

Five weeks is a tad lenient to my mind.

I would also like to add that i don't believe that Delon Armitage is an overly malicious player. I do think that his reputation is what is costing him a lot though. I think that this will dog him through his career now and he will be looked at alot harder than most other players. Courtney Lawes falls into this category as well.

On what basis is 5 weeks lenient Portnoy?
Have you actually seen the incident concerned?

Yes I saw it Ozzy. There was a swinging arm involved as I recall.

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
Its a ban based on past indescretions. If it had been a player with no real history there may not have been a ban or a very much reduced ban.... say 1 week.

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
He's lucky it was only 5 weeks. Got 5 weeks for the tackle and 3 weeks for another one of his cheap knee shots, but the bans run at the same time, not adjacently.
I have a couple of acquintances who play in the premiership and I asked them 2/3 years ago who was the biggest a**hole in the league and who the players all hate, Delon and Mike Brown were top of the list!

I didnt think that it was too bad to be honest Bathite. I honestly feel that his reputation preceeds him and thats why he is constantly being cited.

Bathite, with all due respect, what de feic has being a a-hole got to do with anything. If we were banning players and fans for that matter on that basis we'd be playing 7's with 3 men and a dog watching.

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
I agree with that, Ozzie.
My point is that (for whatever reason) Delon mus know that he's walking a fine line. And he's not being too clever managing the fact.
That being said, I only suggested that five weeks is a tad lenient.

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
It was an aside, but if the players think he's a t0sser and the officials obviously do after he abused one of them last time, then obviously he is going to be a target.
He obviously doesn't have the intelligence to work that out, so its really difficult to have any sympathy for him. Its such a shame, because I really do rate him as a player. Similar to EFS at the moment, I just don't understand we people can't learn from their (repeated) mistakes!

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
Ozzy,
If the tackle was considered dangerous...which it was..he should have been banned.
The length of that ban rightly takes into consideration prevoious discplinary record. If they are going to halve bands for firts offences it makes sense to increase the length for 3rd offences...or in this case 5th offences.
The problem he seems to have is a game based on running around liek a headless chicken

Re: Delon Armitage - AGAIN!!!
I just dont see Armitage escaping this, his reputation is now so bad that any slight intent will be punished to the full letter of the law.
Even if he does settle down, his playing style will still be under the microscope.

Seems that LI's problems don't extend to simply Delon.

Surprised we haven't had one yet, we give away so many penalties, bet we are right at the top of that list
