The Tree of the WWE
First topic message reminder :
This is a group opinion on how the wwe views its roster (I have not included the Diva's), at the moment, in terms of importance to the company. It is based upon the following criteria:
Level 1 - Vital to the company and PPV headliners with proven drawing ability
Level 2 - Important to the top story lines but cannot main event successfully without it being alongside a Level 1 competitor
Level 3 - Strong upper card / mid carder with regular and logical TV time - appear at all / nearly all PPV's
Level 4 - Solid mid carder with regular TV time and story lines - appear at most PPV's
Level 5 - Mid carders who appear on TV most weeks - occasional PPV appearances
Level 6 - Superstars / lower card talent who may be put into story lines as enhancement talent - get their annual run at the Rumble
Level 7 - Superstars / lower card talent with no obvious story line at present, any TV time will be as a jobber
New additions to roster will automatically go on Level 7 until the next tree alteration.
Based upon current standings, the tree looks like this: (NB:Italics shows inactivity at present).
Level 1: --- HHH --- Cena --- Undertaker --- Punk --- Rock --- Lesner ---
Level 2: --- Sheamus(+1) --- Jericho --- Bryan(+3) --- Orton(-1) --- Big Show
Level 3: --- Barrett(+2) --- Del Rio(-1) --- Kane(+1) --- Rhodes --- Ziggler --- Miz(-1) --- Ryback(+2)
Level 4: --- Mysterio(-1) --- Christian(-1) --- R Truth(-1) --- Kingston(+1) --- Otunga (+1) --- Clay(+2) --- Santino (+2) --- Lord Tensai (-1) --- Cesaro --- Henry(-2)
Level 5: --- Bourne --- Sin Cara --- McIntyre (+1) --- Great Khali --- Slater(+2) --- Epico(+2) --- Primo(+2) --- Swagger(-1) --- Sandow --- Mahal(+2) --- Ryder (-1)
Level 6: --- Jackson --- Ryan(-1) --- Hunico(+1) ---Gabriel (+1) --- Kidd(+1) ---
Level 7: --- Tatsu --- Riley(-1) --- Camacho --- DiBiase(-1) --- Rest of the Roster ---
Future Endeavoured/Taken out of active roster:
John Morrison (highest ranking was Level 5)
Kevin Nash (still under contract, however no plans to return. Highest rank was Level 2)
Booker T (back to commentary duties)
Tyler Reks (highest ranking was Level 7)
Please feel free to comment on standings within the tree. More than 3 votes constitutes a change in standing.
I will be updating the tree based on comments after each PPV. The tree will be based upon the time leading to that PPV in question, and the PPV results itself. Therefore, you can comment on standings at anytime and the opinions will be counted after that PPV and any changes made will be done a few days after.
Next Edit will be after: Next PPV

So where Khali, Show, R truth (actually involved in a big storyline all summer), Kofi and Santino!
What have either got lined up for mania? I think both are brilliant but by the categories set out in the first post they are level 3.

Any more opinions?
Just so you know I have been looking back at previous months results and it is very up and down. More so than I thought when I started doing this.

It's up and down because people react to every single push and PPV appearance to move people up and down, rather than looking to see if they fit in with the descriptions.TwisT wrote:Any more opinions?

Re: The Tree of the WWE
Gabriel got a PPV match, and was involved in a pretty neat Cheese and Fart promo.
Level 5 I reckon?
Definitely above McIntyre. It makes no sense that McIntyre would be above Gabriel.
Gabriel needs a new walk on music, it's very flat. That would elevate him a bit.

If he continues to be booked to go over in the promos then goes over clean he will need his own level right at the top of the tree.

I know I'm too late to vote for this change, but this is how I currently see the pecking order without looking at what other people have said. I started from scratch and tried to just see how people fit into the descriptions, and ended up with six groups of six:

John Cena
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
CM Punk (WWE Champion)

There is only one man in Level 6 who featured at all in Wrestlemania - and that is The One Man Southern Rock Band Baby Yeah! (Apart from Khali - but he doesn't count as he is universally acknowledged as rubharb)
A little promotion to Level 5 is on the cards by my reckoning
Best additional segment of the night too.

Ziggler down to Level 3.

Re: The Tree of the WWE
Level 1: The storyline so far makes it quite clear that Brock Lesnar is "Vital to the company and a PPV headliner with proven drawing ability", so can't see how he's only a Level 2. Also, is there a question mark now over the active status of HHH and Undertaker?
Level 2: The rest of the guys currently there (other than Lesnar) I agree with, with the addition of The Miz (who still made a big pin at WM28, remember).
Level 3: I'd keep Christian in Level 3, rather than relegating him to 4 simply because he's injury prone.
Level 4: Other than Christian, no problems with this level.
Level 5: I'm with ED on this one, sadly, that Heath Slater is easily as active as the other guys in there and fits the L5 description. I'd probably add the Tag Champions too...

Re: The Tree of the WWE
I have moved Lesner and Slater up. Miz, I am really not sure at of at the moment. He is straddling 2 and 3, and I would like to see if a storyline develops in further weeks.
Tag champs.....yes they are tag champs but as the division is down the gutter, how can they move up?
Christian is a difficult one, and I can see him and Rey moving up once they come back. HHH and Taker, although not really active, you would say would headline (or be in one of the main matches) of any PPV they took part in.
EDIT: After thinking about it some more I have lifted Epico and Primo up. They were on TV, regardless of the match outcome

Re: The Tree of the WWE
Surely Orton is more than capable of headlining a PPV, as he has done numerous times in the past. If he was in the main event scene all the time still pople would be moaning about all the same faces. Just because he is taking a break from the title scene doesnt mean he isnt capable or isnt going to main event in the next couple of months and a feud with Kane is hardly a bad push when he wins eventually.

Because at present he is nowhere near the level of Cena, Punk etc. He is WWE's AJ Styles and is currently in mid card feuds.

^ This. At present it seems apparent that the WWE don't currently have the confidence in Orton to carry a main event feud on his own.
