boxnation
I have been watching boxnation since it started on sky at the start of the month. There is no way that anyone in thier right minds would pary with the £10 to watch thier programms, turned it on at 7p.m tonight and they where showing the fights from 3 weeks ago that have been repeated every day since the fights. Think they will have to come up with something better than this to get folks to part with hard earned cash.
Enzo did well with a first round stoppage though.
One of the best fights I have seen this year was on Channel 5 with the first fight of Chris Eubank Jr. he fought like a lad who had been in the pro ranks for a couple of years, he will be one to watch in the next few years.
Why can't Frank Warren just stay with Sky and let us all be able to watch the fights we want to see insead of parting with more money.
Sorry but I can't see this station lasting to long.

Re: Boxnation
I reckon it's done alright really, I've watched quite a few shows from boxnation, seems decent enough, £10 a month will be good value 2 out of 3 months I reckon.
I'm guessing Enzo/plus his team would have liked a few more rounds at the new weight. He probabally needs another 'settling in' fight fairly soon before attempting any proper challenges (between dec20-jan20 IMO). Doesn't look like he's retiring any time soon (sadly?).

Re: Boxnation
think its been decent with good fights from around the world. there isnt good live events on everyday so they can only show fights fridays and saturdays.

Re: Boxnation
Welcome, weatherwatcher.
You just need to look at the figures really. Eubank Jr and Fury on channel 5 had shedloads of views, and that is the sort of thing that boxing as a sport needs more of. Segregating itself to a subscription channel where only hardcore fans will bother is a bit naive in my book.
It is a good channel, and a great concept i.e. a boxing only channel, however the subscription becomes an issue with regard to attracting new viewers of the sport.

box nation
It is a great idea to have boxing on a dedicated channel but I am sure they could keep it free to view with enough advertising or can't the promoter make enough money out of it without charging a subscription. Boxing fans will just have to hope that Sky and Channel 5 keep showing other bouts. It would be a shame to be deprived of boxing in the way that cricket has been taken off the air on free to view. I know we have to pay for sky surely we don't need to have to pay more to watch another channel.
Lets hope that it ends up as a free to view chanell in the end.
You never know it just may happen if noone subscribes to it.

I don't think it could support itself purely from advertising. The investment must have been big so far.

Re: Boxnation
They havn't really given it much tought to the fact of what happens on the 30th of this month if hardly anyone spends thier pennies subscribing. If it turns out to be a flop what happens then. ???
A year or so ago there was a channel just the same dedicated to boxing and kick boxing that started out as the wresling channel then went of to boxing but that collapsed after about a year when they went of to ppv.
Can't actually see it working myself.
I know it would be nice to see the fight at the weekend's but with another £10 extra on top of your Sky subsciption it turns out a bit steep.
When you look at the last Amir Khan fight on ppv there was only a few hundreed people paid to watch.
And if you where fast enough you could have seen the fight on you tube just after it finnished. That is before they took it off. Then again it was shown on Sky a day or so after so it was a waste of money paying to watch it.
If noone pays up what happens to boxnation then. my quess it will stay on the internet where it starte life a couple of years ago.
Me thinks it should have stayed there. Who's brain child is it though Frank Warren's or his son Francis.

i wonder where it leaves warren if boxnation folds. his whole stable has been put into it and you do wonder if sky will welcome him back in open arms.

Re: Boxnation
sky won't care one way or another... you don't think they host boxnation for free? They'll watch with interest to see if it gets any subscribers, and pick up the pieces when it goes teets up
