Ah, okay. I thought you meant he was in the Welsh match-day squad so I assumed someone else had pulled out.

On the welsh call-ups. I'll be mightily annoyed if Danny lydiate has yet another reoccurrence of his injury. Why pick him? It's a nothing game!!

It's a game all the regions could do without - and it's one Warren Gatland could do without too, never mind the players.

Re: Andy Tuilagi signs for the Dragons
its a nothing game, but its a money spinner, with the players both sides are missing, I'd imagine Gatlands under pressure to put out all the "star" players he can to attract the crowd.
Especially when names like James Hook & Quade Cooper arent in the squads.
its not great, and i think everyone involved in a rugby-capacity (aka not the money spinning bar stewards at the WRU) has said as much openly.
But, whatcha gonna go? If we turn Australia over, nearly all will be forgotten.

It's in the fixture list now, there's nothing we can do about it; but is it asking too much to expect a rugby union to take more than just money into consideration when arranging Test matches? Like how it might affect the country's regional teams, for example?
For all the RFU's troubles, they didn't feel the need to sandwich an international match between the World Cup and the Six Nations.

Re: Andy Tuilagi signs for the Dragons
to be fair to the RFU, for all of their sins, many much publicised, they dont seem to be at the same level of "money grabbing bar steward"that the WRU have acheived. In fact, I'd say they are possibly #1 in the world at lining their coffers.
also, given the positions in the pro12 the welsh teams are currently at and the results in Europe for all the sides so far, the WRU will look at it and say "well arent our regions doing well, obviously everything we're doing is going well, ohhh and Wales made the semi-final of the world cup, aren't we great".
you know, before they go back to counting their money.
I dont agree with the WRU, you may be able to tell.

The WRU makes alot less money than the RFU but gives an awful lot back at grass roots level.
Scarletts fans can't moan about missing players, the WRU have paid for them more than any other club

The way they are playing entertaining rugby and producing young talent then they deserve every penny they get.
