Bangladesh v Pakistan 2nd Test
Just a bit of praise for a change for a couple of Bangladeshi batsmen, Nafees and Al Hasan for taking BD from their recent usual 43-4 to 204-4.
Nafees 88no
Al Hasan 93no
And both coasting to a ton apiece.

Very well done Shakib, gutted for Nafees, but an excellent effort nevertheless.

Looks like Pakistan will be playing at home again against Bangladesh in April.
BD might well play there, but I am not sure if many others would at present.

Hmm, doesn't sit right with me. Have they proven that the country is any more stable than it was at the time of the attacks?

Brilliant from Bangladesh today finally showing they have the steel to carve out long innings and recover from what was an awful position.

I Think it is now more of a hot bed than it was before. I would not go there.

Re: Bangladesh v Pakistan 2nd Test
A better day from Bangladesh but lets not get too carried away - they could still very well be bowled out for under 300 on what looks a good batting surface. All of the batsman have shown ability at some point so it's about time that they made a mark in this series.
As for the proposed Bangladesh visit to Pakistan it looks like this is the trade-off for Pakistan supporting the Bangladeshi candidate for the ICC presidency... Given that a return for international cricket to Pakistan could well be a terrorist target and things have hardly got better since 2009 (itself a return of internationals to Pakistan made too hastily after Aus and Ind didn't tour in 2008) I would strongly advise Bangladesh not to make the trip, but then I'm not a security expert.

Bangladesh have gone passed 300, Shakib looked good for a lot more than 144 before he got runout as a result of a mistake from Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim went nexxt ball, but Shahadat Hossain and Elias Sunny have resisted since then. Bangladesh 320-7.

Sunny gone to a bad call from umpire Shabir Tarapur. LBW to Ajmal after the batsman got an inside edge. Bangladesh 331-8.

Re: Bangladesh v Pakistan 2nd Test
So 338 it is, the Bangladesh first innings. A lot better than their recent efforts. Bangladesh got 3 seamers in their lineup, in Shahadat, Robiul, and Nazmul. But will they be able to make any real impact on a Pakistani batting lineup that should be high on confidence? Or will it all be up to Shakib Al Hasan, to take wickets, to contain?

Re: Bangladesh v Pakistan 2nd Test
If we didn't know that Bangladesh have a dreadful record of sustaining success over an extended period of time, this would have all the ingredients for a very interesting Test match. It could well still be one if Bangladesh can get 2 or 3 early wickets tomorrow but that really is a BIG if.

Re: Bangladesh v Pakistan 2nd Test
Pakistan are chasing 103. Bangladesh lost the plot in the session after lunch, till then Nasir and Mushfiqur fought it out, and then Nasir got out to a pretty good ball and Rahim through a start after getting to 50.
The only chance for BD now is the light.
