Shall we make some unsubstantiated accusations about drug use and insult each other a bit to test out the new mod's skills?

It's a great move. Since I couldn't give the time I can't think of a better candidate to provide the unbiased, rational moderating the forum needs.
My full support to laverfan!

Please do. It is always good to have practice runs, prior to the real thing. As long as your are willing to fill out a 'report card' for me to YI Man, I am happy.

All a bit early in the New Year Bill I think - let's lull her into a false sense of security!

NP. Bit of messing around does not hurt too much.

Re: New Moderator
I would have liked more, insted of a single mod who is thought to be impartial, to have two mods coming from different sides: eg Tenez and Simple Analyst. Yes, that would have been probably the best choice i think, no offence LF my mate.

Re: New Moderator
No LF is a Federer fan (out of active players)so not he's not technically impartial. However is still has quite a balanced viewpoint so thats fine by me.polished_man wrote:I would have liked more, insted of a single mod who is thought to be impartial,
But I see your point in having both a Nadal fan and a Fed fan as mod that would bring a bit more balance.
And btw I'm part of another tennis forum where Laverfan is also mod, and he is doing a superb job there, have absolutely no reason to believe that he won't do as well here.

Ah, but then we'd need new mods when Rafa and Fed have retired. With LF with have a 'mod for life'! Let's hope being a mod doesn't lessen one's life-span.

Tenez and Simple Analyst as mods?
I would also like that, but only because it would be hilarious to watch the carnage.
I can't believe you mean that seriously.

It would be good to have more moderators, even though I do not know the current posters/moderators ratio for Tennis.
No offence taken, PM. Varying viewpoints should be discussed, in a pleasant manner, on a public forum.

Re: New Moderator
Congrats on being appointed a mod Laverfan! A very worthy person for such a vital role; I regard you are one of the most fair minded posters on here!
Appointing moderators on the basis of which tennis players they support is a recipe for disaster. I can understand why someone can think it might lead to 'balance' but it doesn't, especially when you think of the two suggested candidates (mentioned above). Rather a better way of deciding moderators is to pick those whom forum members respect and can be relied upon to apply the forum's rules consistently and fairly upon all.
Another moderator might be a good idea although who they support should not come into it!

The 'black badge' checks and balances the 'blue badge'. . Thanks.
