Gloucester Backline 2012/2013 Season is going to be strong!
First topic message reminder :
Accroding to the BBC website Gloucester have made signed Billy Twelvetrees for next season.
With this signing Gloucesters backline for next season is looking really strong. IMO it will be:
10: Burns
11:J-S-D
12: Twelvetrees
13: Trinder
14: Sharples
15: May
To me this looks like a great backline with pace and power with a fly half who this season is pciking all the right options. I think this could even be the future England backline.
Now what does everyone else think?

- Spoiler:
- Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill has revealed that Billy Twelvetrees will leave the club at the end of the season to join Gloucester.
Cockerill had hoped to extend the 23-year-old centre's current deal, which expires in the summer.
"On Monday he told me he was staying, on Wednesday I was told by his agent he was signing for Gloucester," he said.
"They have assured him of being first choice number 12 for them and his salary has been much improved."
Twelvetrees, who has gained recognition with the England Saxons squad, made 18 appearances for the Tigers last season with six off the bench. This term he has made 12 starts in 13 games, scoring four tries in the process.
He has faced competition for a place at Welford Road, with Anthony Allen the club's first-choice inside centre and Manu Tuilagi the preferred outside centre.
"If he does not want to stay and fight for his spot, that is disappointing," Cockerill said. "There are world-class players holding tackle bags in training every week."
"I did not want to lose him and he will be fully involved until the end of the season."

Even if Allen was playing better (and I've always been underwhelmed) it was obvious that Twelvetrees had something about him and to not give him the odd start through the spring was astonishing I thought.
Billy's gone to a side which a vastly superior backline, where he's mates with his OC partner, which feels like it is on the up, which pays better and which will give him a chance to focus on his best position rather than having to wait for Anthony Allen to not be available. Total no-brainer I reckon.

You're probably right. I was just saying all the 'guaranteed starter at 12' stuff was stupid.

Yes, and even if Gloucester did actually say that (which I doubt) it isn't in their or Twelvetrees' best interests to guarentee him the 12 shirt.
