Please add your score predictions for this weekend's three games onto the end of this thread.
The rules are as follows:-
- Spoiler:
- 1) Each week you will be asked to predict the scores from that weekend's games.
2) You will be get points depending on how close you are to the actual score. Points will be awarded in the following way:-
- You will get 20 points for getting the correct match outcome (up from 10 points last year).
- You will get 10 points for getting a teams score correct.
- You will lose one of those 10 points for every point you are away from a teams score. Therefore you must be with 10 points of a teams score to gain points.
- If you get a match score spot on you will be awarded double points. So if the correctly predict a matches score you will receive a maximum 80 points.
Example:-
Your prediction - Ireland 17-31 Wales
Actual result - Ireland 25-31 Wales
Your score 32 points
You would receive 20 points for correctly predicting Wales to win. As you were 8 points off Ireland's score you get 2 points for that and another 10 points for getting Wales' score spot on.
Saturday, 17 March 2012
England v Ireland, 17:00
Italy v Scotland, 12:30
Wales v France, 14:45

i havent checked but even with the two favourites - he is looking at a 60/1 or so on that one!!
Nah, 27/1
Unless you didnt just do results and said Ireland + 10 and Scotland + 12
In which case it would be 76.5/1

thats mental because you can get 41/1 on an italy-england draw- i know multiples(i take it you must be on betfair) go shorter but thats ridiculas if you think about it

But also an earlier bet on them to win the tournament at 3.5
And France to win at 2.5 (just in case )

76.5 decimal sorry
It was on William Hill
England v Italy has the worst odd on the draw.
Ireland v France draw is quite tempting.

Yeah, I thought they would lose in Ireland but win in Twicker and then have a shot at the tournament vs France.
Now a GS is on the cards.
(I had a double on Scotland and Wales to win last weekend - If Scotland had won like they should have, it would have made me a fair bit)
I didn't do well last weekend - Hopefully Italy will win this weekend and recoup me loses.

just checked the multiple on betfair- decimal 42.8 on the triple, however you can get 42 decimal on just the england draw(the multiple odd is trading at 21)
worth checking these things- because it would be ridicluas to take the multiple over the single in that case!!

Re: Six Nations Competition - Week 5
i take it on william hill they dont shorten any odds- they stay the same multiple or single. so its all good on there.
on betfair multiple odds are covered by betfair themselves(whereas on singles its mostly other punters)

Week 2
France 28 - 25 Ireland

Wales 42 - 28 Scotland
I think it is interesting the way that the breakdown was being refereed last weekend with such alacrity.

Taking risks makes the game more enjoyable on and off the pitch besides I NEARLY won 150 quid from a 3 quid bet for putting money on a tied series with the Lions in SA, IF IT WEREN'T FOR ROG! grrrrrr!

put your money on it for sure - you are offered favorable odds at the bookies. however you are not offered odds in this predictor tourny!! better to just go fo 11-10 or 10-11 in this case. But its all abit of fun right. I would say good luck, fortune could favour the brave. However i want england to win so your not getting any good luckwish from me on this one

It was a simple prediction and a fairly balanced one i thought. Made before the Wales team was announced thus did not know that players like Priestland and Roberts would play... Why does it now have to be brought to the forfront?

Don't bite Billy your posts are always reasoned and logic suggested a decent Irish win - unfortunately Irish rugby and logic have little in common and Wales played well in a scintillating spectacle.

Re: Six Nations Competition - Week 5
Just took me by suprise Ruby, going on what i knew last week i suspected a decent win based on the fact that it was reported that many Welsh players would be missing. I was also clear in saying that if Wales had a full, or close to full, compliment of players then i expected it to be a very close game and that i could not pick a winner.
Still, i dont mind, even though Ireland lost, as that was a brilliant match to watch. Real edge of the seat rugby.

the sad thing is that in other games the odds on not scoring tries would be lower than the odds of scoring tries. Scotland truly are unique haha

Ok my predictions - usually as useful as a one legged man in a backside kicking competition, however after round one I am in the top ten! So here goes
Italy 19 - 18 England
France 25 - 15 Ireland
Wales 30 - 20 Scotland
Hopefully better games this Saturday than last Saturday, followed by a belter on Sunday again
