Arguello was murdered no doubt about it!!! Pretty poor stuff....But the kind of stuff you get away with in these backward corrupt South American Countries...
it was worthy of President Marcos...

Easy thing to say but Arguello loved his son far too much to even contemplate killing himself, everyone know he was murdered by the government but nothing can be done about it.

Some others that are worth adding, there is a biography of Jersey Joe Walcott coming soon that looks terrific out on Mc Farland publishing and by the end of the year Adam Pollack should have completed his Jack Johnson biography which is as close to unmissable as it gets.

Not treating yourself to the Haye book then, Rowley?
The Arcel and Rickard ones will be required reading for me, no doubt about that.

It will be quality IMO, there are so many I want it is not even funny at the minute, the next on my list is the Sundowners by Kevin Smith which is apparently excellent, only stumbling block is hardback edition is about £50 which hurts.

Some of the prices make me cry, some of them are definately worth it though. The Walcott book due out tomorrow in America but i have just noticed it's on schedule for 31st May here, nice one i'll add it to the list.

Can't wait for Johnson Rowley, just recieved Tommy Burns and should have Fitzsimmons by Monday, had a lot of trouble getting that one, it cost me 40 bucks.
Have the Jefferies one also but not looking forward to getting the Corbett one and the Sullivan one is pricey at the moment. Do you have the Corbett one if so did you get it from Lulu.com?

GG, the Corbett one is the only one I have not got, it is only available from lulu.com, will get it eventually to complete the set but I have Patrick Myler's biography of him so decided it could probably wait. Adam said the Johnson book should arrive by the end of the year and it should be massive, given the Jeffries one ran to 600 pages can only guess what constitutes massive.

I have the Myler one also Rowley so wasn't too pressed with the Corbett one, i have yet to read it though and must have had it for at least 8 years now. I was thinking about trying Lulu for the Corbett one before i bought Burns but read some bad reviews about books taking weeks and traveling long ways for a shortcut, probably shouldn't have read them but i will get in touch with them i think if i'm looking to buy it, i'm sure it will be fine. Still got the Sullivan and Hart ones to get so i am in no rush. Let me know if you hear anything more on johnson.

It's going to be a beauty that's for sure, probably end up around 800-900 pages, i can't see that starting off at 26 bucks but it will be worth every penny.

Wish I'd not read that as the only place I have seen the sundowners available from is Lulu, for nearly £50 I expect them to provide someone to read it to me!
