Six Nations 2012 predictions...! Week 2

France v Ireland, 20:00

Italy v England, 16:00


Sunday

Wales v Scotland, 15:00

I've gone for England, France, Wales.

Borh france and Ireland struggled to dominate territory and possession, france struggled against Italy and Ireland put up a plucky performance against a rampaging Wales pack. so I would give the benefit of the doubt to Ireland in the breakdowns, but france showed they have quick backs and the ability to execute and finish.

Ireland in the past decade has had either a very competitive match or a very poor match against France, I think this one will be competitive as Ireland will effectively be out if they lose this.

France 22 - Ireland 14

With england not convincing last weekend it stands to reason Italy will most likely dominate posession and territory, I expect a borefest for most of the game and england to win by not too much.

england 23 - Italy 12

Wales has continued to play good rugby and their forawrds have been very good at the breakdown, their backs have speed and power. Expect scotland to put up a fight for the first 50 or so minutes, but then wales to come through.

Wales 28 - Scotland 16.

Scotland will score a try this weekend.

Scotland last week,played all the rugby,they just made it easy for England with the mistakes,and alas could well do the same against Wales.

England needed that run last week and will be all the better for it , and will come out and do Italy easy.

Surely Ireland must do France,even Tonga belittled them not that long ago,just not sure where Ireland will get the points from though....

Italy to win ? seriously guys.

Put up a fight ? maybe. But i just don't see Italy being able to win this weekend. England have too much going for them : The return of flood , Confidence from beating scotland at home (First time in 8 years) and the squad has had actual game experience together unlike last week.

People are having ago at England's lack of attack against scotland , but since when has there ever been a massively open game between these two countries in recent history. Im not expecting a whitewash like last year but a win by 15+ points wouldn't suprise me.

Italy, France and Wales.

Italy played well against France last week, better than England played against Scotland at times. Italy almost won two years ago, this will be their year. England looked shambolic against Scotland for periods of the game and had real difficulty creating anything.

France are always threatening, their wings are fearsome and will prove too much for Ireland but only by a small margin. Nothing between the sides other than home advantage, Ireland played well last week and will put up a good fight but unfortunately will be second best.

Wales are a confidence team, having won what was thought to be their hardest game will relish an encounter at home against the Scots. A few injury returns will help their cause too and confidence will not allow failure. Scotland know they threw their last game away, but despite creating a lot of chances last week failed to finish them off. They'll do better and bag a try or two but Wales will be too strong for them.
