Scotland 15 - Wales 14
France 18 - Ireland 15
England 25 - Italy 15
I do think that all these games will be tighter than most people think they will.

Re: Six Nations Predictions for the weekend
I thought I'd have a look at the Stats for this weekend's matches. As everyone seems to think that all the teams are pretty average this year I thought I should go along with the average results. Strangely enough it's close to what I would have said anyway! So it's:
Scotland 10.36 vs Wales 12.68 (very close after 117 matches - just a penalty in it)
Ireland 11.46 vs France 16.27 (still close and still within a try after 90 matches)
England 40.28 vs Italy 12.61 (a trouncing, much has it has been after 18 matches - all of them won by England)
Sounds about right to me.

Re: Six Nations Predictions for the weekend
I don't want to make a prediction on scotland vs Wales game. I always feel Scotland should beat them but they usually stuff it up so I think Wales will pinch it. Hope there are no yellow cards this time, every game there always seems to be a moment where one team is down to 13 men, usually Scotland.
Ireland will beat France I think, 21 - 19
England will beat Italy but not in the manner they did back in 2011, 25 - 10

I have been thinking about a monster Wales win for quite a while now.
Man for man on paper, Wales could blow them away if each man gives 100%. Quick ball to the back 3 is paramount.
Why grind out a win when we could go for the points deficit we badly need to reduce?
Great choice keeping Ryan as captain. We need his 2005 performance.
Duncan Weir is 4'3" we must target that channel.

As long as we look for contact rather than space, I don't see us putting a big score on anyone, in the Six Nations at least.

I tend to agree with this. At Murrayfield, I think it will be close. There's a bit of wishfull thinking going on from some here - having Wales to beat Scotland by more than 12 points? Nah.... Wales havent beaten Scotland by more than 18 points that I can remember - and, its at Murrayfield - AND, Scotland look like they could actually put an 80 minute performance together. I need Wales to win so that my pub sweepstake prediction gets back on track, but i'd be equally happy for Scotland to beat them. A draw would suit me fine actually, and I think it'll be close, so its possible.
France I think will beat Ireland. In fact I think France will win their last two matches comfortably. Against England for 50 minutes they were a real handfull, and no disrespect to any other team here, but if it HAD of been any other 6N team, and not England at Twickenham, I think France would have had the game won by the time they capitulated. Sorry, Ireland look disjointed, and France will continue to improve (how could they get worse?) - France to win by 5 - 7 points.
England will beat Italy, its just a case of by how much. No real injury concerns for England and playing at home SHOULD see England win by a big margin. If England score early, it'll be a rout - an England win by 30+.

You've gone for a draw in Murrayfield too? Do you think it will be that high scoring? Two teams fumbling around a bit...

Re: Six Nations Predictions for the weekend
It may be that England fluff and stumble and get under 30 (or even under 20 if the weather is nasty) points vs Italy - but I cant see any reason at all as to how Italy can get into double figures.
The other two games are actually difficult to call.

Re: Six Nations Predictions for the weekend
I am actually not going to be around this weekend so will not see the games, so in my mind (and until I see different) this WILL be the results
Scotland 145
Wales 0
Ireland 0
France 0
England 0
Italy 0
From this, the Lions will be made up of 100 Scotsmen wearing kilts and we will White wash the Ozzies while de flowering their women. The end of the Lions tour will become a national holiday and all other nations will realise that Scotland should have the world bank and will solve the debt crisis while sending a manned Macaroon space mission to mars
As I said, until I see different this if FACT
Or
Scotland 9
Wales 24
Ireland 18
France 15
England 30
Italy 12
Scotland 145
Wales 0
Ireland 0
France 0
England 0
Italy 0

I reckon anyone who's predicting wins for Wales in the region of 15 points and a depleted Ireland beating a returning to form France is deluded. In my opinion.

I must be then
I have not seem much to get optimistic about Scotland - several break away tries but completely dominated in 3 games so far - not good
France return to form is 40 mins so far
Ireland have actually played quite well and should have put 25 points on Scotland
Hence my predictions

I see the results for this weekend being something like that. I would ideally like to see Wales beat Scotland by a much larger margin than England beat Italy.. So the grand slam decider on the final weekend is a winner takes all scenario, instead at the moment where England could play damage liability rugby and still win the championship on points difference.

Scotland to win narrowly in a high scoring contest.
France for a narrow in in a low scoring contest.
England comfortable win but Italy to make them work hard get a decent score.

I'm disappointed that the England game is being moved to Italy. Seems a bit unfair after we played them there last year too.kiakahaaotearoa wrote:Scotland Wales 19 13

Re: Six Nations Predictions for the weekend
Having sat through the last few years I would never be surprised by England finding new ways not to score points. And I wouldnt put it past Italy just finding a way to hold onto the ball forever. But Italy are missing their best player and lack pace - the one thing that seems to lead to scores against England. The English defense is strong and very disciplined in their own half - so the Italians wont get penalty chances - (and have a rubbish kicking % too) and are unlikely to get anywhere near a try.
I cant believe anyone is seriously suggesting that Italy will score more than a handful of points

It's tough been an English fan. Not only do sides up their game against you, but bans are reduced to ensure players can play and coaches pick their best players in the best positions.

Frankly, Wales havent been particularly good either.

It was more like 50, and without sounding condescending, was 50 minutes no other 6N team would have been able to handle as well as England did. Plus, PSA made some crazy substitutions at that point which destructured France. He probably wont do it again.
Ireland have actually played quite well and should have put 25 points on Scotland

ive read al the comments. V2 at its entertaining best.
with a serious attempt at being serious ill go with this...
ireland are depleted and will struggle against france. this could be france's best chance at a good win this year. i'll go with ire 12- 30 fra
the big hurdle for england this year. must beat the visitors in the penultimate round. italy with a good win under their belts this year will go to hq with the best they can muster-and parisse in the team to boot. a close one early on but the home team will win. eng 30-15 ita
i always want scotland to do well. i hope they do well this weekend too. however, this is a very strong welsh side. stronger for warbs in the team. stronger for ryan captaining the side. lots of rugby to go but i (slightly hesitantly) predict. sco 15-30 wal.
hope you all have a great weekend. rugby is always the winner.
