David Price should leave Frank Maloney
After reading that Fury has ran for the hills like a "coward" as Price himself said he would be if he ducked this fight, it got me thinking..
David Price is getting nowhere with Maloney.
Price's fights are lasting less than 6 minutes with him knocking out can after can and yet still he is only fighting on Maloney cards 2-3 times a year.
Look at 2011, he only fought for approx 12 minutes the whole year. Its crazy, he is taking no punishment so why the long spells between fights?
12 fights in 3 years may sound average, but considering that he is blasting people out without being hardly touched is silly. Surely Price could get on more cards than this.
Maloney's claim to fame is being Lewis' manager, he isn't a big time promoter and I can't see how Price will further himself under Frank. Maloneys shows are poor events with seriously untalented fighters facing his guys and are instantly forgetable.
So in my view, I think Price should head to one of the top guys, Hearn or Warren to get the more regular or decent fights because he needs them as he has the talent to do fantastic. Maloney is small fish and always has been, he was just lucky to land Lewis at the time.
How do you think Price would do elsewhere and where should he go?
Thanks
Dee

He should go to Sauerland Germany is where all the big heavyweight fights are held.

Agreed he should go for Hearn, mainly due to the Sky connection, keep the hype-train running and build up his profile. Something that won't happen with Warren and Boxnation.
That would also help give Hearn the kind of large balanced stable that 'should' allow him to put on some decent stacked cards.

It is now, but in 2-3 years time? One or both of the K's could be retired by then and Germany won't really offer anything.

Agree 100% on that one. Plus they have cards almost every week so if he blasts out someone in 2 minutes, at least he can have another match a few weeks later.
He blew Tom Dallas away last June in 5 minutes and 47 seconds, but yet has to wait 7 months to fight again.
He could have had 3 fights between that

But even Warren still has shows on almost every week (ok it IS Boxnation) but there is still plenty of choice to get on an undercard or main event.
Just don't think Maloney has the capacity to bring a fighter to the top these days.

It will offer more than Britain it's the home of heavyweight boxing right now and Price needs more fights and exposure Sauerland would get him that better than any promoter on the planet right now.

I thought Price's inactivity has been more down to injuries rather than Maloney's incompotence.
If he does leave, I agree that Sauerland or Universum would be the most logical choices.
Other Euro prospects like Gerber, Helenius and Boytsov are promoted by them and they get their boxers fighting regularly and seem to hold strong shows.

Just added up Price's Pro career and in 3 years he has fought for just 1 hour 37 minutes and 14 secs.
Thats not good enough for the big lad. He needs more time fighting than that.

Or 5834 seconds. Just not good enough.

Don't forget that a fair chunk of that time has been spent waiting for John McDermott to get up.

its not his fault he's too good for his oppenents. i thought dallas and mcdermott were good matches seeing though where he is at the moment. he will be learning far more in sparring than in the ring
