They had Scotland in the scrum throughout. The Scotland back up props were embarrassingly bad. Young hogg looks a prospect

Hogg and Jones both look talents in the Scot's back line.

I'm not entirely sure how happy I am with Cips. We need Macleod in there for his goal kicking and might need to be pushed to 12.

He'd be one of the few FH's I'd prefer Gopperth over with and that's saying something. Such a infuriating player to watch.

Pretty good ratings from the Guardian....little harsh on Tuilagi, thought he played really well:

Farrell a 9???
Didn't think he was that good. I'd give Warburton 9 and the likes of Barrit, North, Parling 7's.

Folks
Just to let you know so it's all above board. Chris is not going to be online much over the next couple of weeks, so has PM'd me his teams for this week and next, which I will post on the match threads.
As I know that he won't be on much and the reason why he is excused from predictions and will not be finacially penalised for not doing them.

would anyone make any changes for the france game?
I want to see Sharples in over Ashton.
Brown deserves a start too. Foden is quality but has had a poor 6N. tough decision.

Foden should never be dropped in a month of sundays. He is the 3rd name on the teamsheet behind Dan Cole and Manu Tuilagi.
I am happy with the side as it is myself.
Only way Brown gets a start is if Foden is attending birth of child.

Highlights seem to show that Marler did a job on Harden on saturday.
Anyone reckon that this upturn in scrumagging form is due to his work with Rowntree?
If it is then we need to get Henry Thomas, Rupert Harden, Kieran Brookes, Lee Imiolek, Grant Shiells and any other england prop along for some work with him!

I'd make 2 changes for France, those being Lawes for Botha and Sharples for Ashton.
There are other areas that need addressing, but it needs to be an evolutionary process rather than a revolutionary one.

I think I said similar last week, certainly looked stronger.
Only player I'd consider changing is Ashton for Sharples or possibly bring May onto the bench inplace of Brown (long shot). Be good to get Wood back onto the bench too. Ashton seems like he's trying to displace Youngs as most out of form back.
I'd stick with Foden at FB. He's looked very average in attack but is always a rock in defence.

Apparently Gloucester scrum went well in the game although I have not seen it. Glos front row got good marks on all the match reports. May scored a cracker.
Sharples was in injured for England yet played in the game. How???

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
I'd like to see this squad go on the summer tour. (*denotes uncapped)
Corbisiero, Mullan, Marler*, Cole, Doran-Jones.
Hartley, Webber, George*.
Garvey*, Attwood, Lawes, Parling.
Croft, Robshaw, Wood, Wallace*, Morgan, Narraway.
Youngs, Care, Dickson.
Farrell, Flood, Burns*.
Barritt, Turner-Hall, Tuilagi, Joseph*.
Ashton, Sharples*, Strettle, May*, Foden, Brown.
That's a 34 man squad with 8 uncapped players in, that should be good enough to compete now, but with an eye on the future.
The only one that I really had to think about was a back up 8 to Morgan. I am not 100% convinced that Narraway should now be that man (despite being a big fan), but we seriously lack options in that position at present.

I genuinely think that Lancaster has England on the right path, but he needs to show that he is ready to continually make the tough calls and axe people who have had the opportunity and have done ok, but have shown that they are unlikely to ever be a top international.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
I like Lancaster and hope he keeps the job as i think he's re-installed a lot of respect for the England team which went missing post RWC and he's created a squad of players who generally seem to have a burning desire to play for England.
I'v poached some of the ideas which he uses - prior to our Second team cup semi final on the 10th March away to Blaydon who beat us in the final last year. I'v went round the senior members of the club one who has played 500+ games for Seaton , the tag section , club president , members and just general people who have followed the club over the years and asked what it would mean to them to see not just a trophy in the cabinet but a team to be proud of and you get some pretty meaningful responses!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
My summer squad would be very experimental. Outside of a full strength 22, I would really look to blood the young talent in the midweek games as well as getting them involved in a long term tour. Players in first 22 in caps. I would have the likes of PDJ and Mears in the Saxons so if injury occurred we aren;t playing the likes of Thomas and George to soon.
CORBISIERO, Marler, COLE, STEVENS, Thomas
HARTLEY, WEBBER, George
GARVEY, Attwood, PARLING, LAWES,
WOOD, CROFT, ROBSHAW, Wallace, MORGAN, Gibson
DICKSON, CARE, Youngs, Simpson
FARRELL, FLOOD, Ford
BARRITT, TUILAGI, Joseph, Twelvetrees,
ASHTON, FODEN, STRETTLE, Sharples, Brown, MAY
In the Saxons I would go with (Again First Choice in Caps). I think the Saxon's should have as bigger squad as is needed to include the talented people capable of playing for England.
WOOD, MULLAN, PDJ, Harden, Lahiff
Gray, BROOKER, MEARS
GASKELL, ROBSON, SLATER, Kitchener, Day
FEARNS, Kvesic, ABBOTT, SEYMOUR, CLARK, Wray,
SPENCER, DICKSON, Lewis
BURNS, Heathcote, CLEGG
LOWE, TRINDER, Williams, Smith
WOODBURN, BRADY, Short, MILLER, Chisholm, Yarde
CORBISIERO, Marler, COLE, STEVENS, Thomas
HARTLEY, WEBBER, George

We're not a million miles away in terms of senior squads there Steve. I was going to include Gibson over Narraway, but in trying to not show any London Irish bias I went against it.
Going to be really interesting to see if 1) Lancaster keeps the job, and 2) who he then selects.

I have bias towards my squad on here but that's because I have signed them because I like them and think they are class. Impossible not to show bias for your own players on here because you sign them for a reason.
I want to see May involved but don't know where yet. I don't think he is the man in the centre as we stand. Maybe on the wing for now but with a bit of license to roam.
Liked the look of Chisholm on saturday, his finish is the try of the season so far. Not many people will get past May like that. He like Joseph came through the schools circuit as a centre and may eventually end up there.

I wouldn't have played Warburton had he played a full part in Wales 6n campaign but he has only played 1 and a half games. Priestland had a huge rest on this game pre 6N (4 to 8 weeks I think with injury) so he should be alright.

Parling has hardly played but he put in a huge shift Saturday (19 tackles!), boy needs a rest.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
I guess there are 2 ways of looking at it Steve. There shouldn't be a massive issue with cumulative fatigue, as like you say, he's played relatively little rugby in the last 2 months, but the other view might be that he is off the back of a really tough international, and knows that next week he has another one. Question marks over the body and minds willingness this week.
Personally I've not taken the chance, and haven't included anyone who played in the 6 Nations at the weekend.

No I mean that most players played two internationals back to back in the first two weeks of the 6N but I'm now being told that people will have it taken out of them after one game. 2 AP games and 1.5 international games in 7 weeks seems fine to me and I wouldn't pick up on anyone for fatigue in those games.

I don't think many managers played forwards that played 2 full Ints did they??
I'll definatley be marking down, Int rugby takes a lot of a player especially in the pack. Time away from club and returning to Int the follow week is also a big factor.
Pretty sure most have always picked up on this tbh

I meant people normally pick on players who've played Int the weekend gone, Warburton was a one man wrecking ball he'll be goosed this weekend.
Any starting Int forwards from this weekend are a big no imo, similar with backs that put in a big shift. Farrell, Barritt, Dickson, Manu, JD, Halfpenny etc.
