either way, thats a bit of a joke to be honest.

Not really CF.

1) We have said time and again that the scores are goal heavy, so a 4-0 is more like a 2-0 IRL
and
2) Every week managers give very valid reasons for you getting a loss, and you appear to keep trying the same failing strategy. And whatsmore, because you keep trying it, it is now predictable and easy to counter.

I have seen the comments Twist and it was very close and the man marking from Soriano worked a treat. Fortunately, I have other players who can score too :phew:

VivaPaulScholes wrote:Tottenham v Porto

Dont know what to say on this. Never seen tactics like it. Erm, 0-0. Too many at the back stops Porto playing their quick passing game.

Ridiculous tactics get a ridiculous result. Whilst Porto would undoubtedly have the bulk of possession, for me i can see them building more and more pressure and frustration growing, with a lapse in concentration seeing a rare Spurs attack result in a goal. Unorthodox but worth the gamble.

Spurs tactics are just crazy

Spurs- The lack of attacking threat from spurs and back 6 make this a hard game to judge
Porto- Good 11, great tactics, but find it hard to break down the opposition back
6

With Heskey up front on his own Spurs have less chance of scoring than my nerdy friend at a party so no goals there. I've seen games like this where one team go magnificently defensive and it works, so 0-0 in a game where Porto have 70% of the possession at least but are unable to do anything because Spurs have a shed load of men behind the ball. Well played cherries!

The one I was really looking forward to reviewing once I saw the Spurs line-up! Spurs went with a very defensive 6-2-1-1 formation, very surprising considering Spurs were the home side. Porto were lined up solidly, and the attacking 5 of Reus, Gerrard, Bale, Hulk and Falcao, while a very strong attack, were just outnumbered by the EIGHT defensive players of Spurs! Even with Ganso playing, Spurs were not a threat, Porto being sensible enough to have players back whenever the odd couple of Ganso and Heskey were being the outlet. The game only changed when Janko came on for Porto, assuming the tactics for "when losing" applied when still 0-0 and it's attack v defence. Porto couldn't break Spurs down however, and Spurs get a draw that kills football.

Only one thing when Spurs went with a back line of six FEAR, this was a descision made on fear rather then tactical awareness. This just kept Spurs camped in thier own half they played strong for a while but it was only time till Porto got through.

Atletico v Lazio

Defensive play for Lazio but when Madrid changed to 3-4- they leave gaps at the back for Agbonlahor to expose

High tempo affair, can see both teams going for a win but nothing strikingly obvious in tactics to suggest either had the edge.

Lazio well prepared and able to cope with Atletico comfortably, They get the goal fir the win

Atletico-could do with bulking out with the tactics like what I see though
Lazio- Good starting 11 and subs at right times, Good Team talk, tactics are very well written

It's a difficult one to call. Lazio suffer from a slight lack of pace in the middle of the defence which I can see allowing Cisse to get himself a goal but sodhat is good at setting up his team and can pre-empt what the opponent will do so his team can get themselves a goal.

Lazio did well to pick Atletico's 4-3-3 formation and set up to counter the Atletico attacking threat. Cisse, Turan and Lennon were outnumbered by Lazio's back 3 and wing backs, creating a back 5 when out of possession, however they didn't really account for Eriksen in midfield and this cost them the game as he was free to run at the Lazio defence and be his creative best.

Very good job by Lazio today, the wing backs did very well to contain the threat of the Atletico wingers. The Lazio midfield controlled the midfield allowing them to make the passes and dictate the tempo.

Fiorentina v Malaga

Both did their homework well, not many scoring chances with man marking on both sides

This match is going to be a midfield battle, with so many bodies in the way it's going to be a scrappy encounter with points being shared.

RVP kept quiet enough, still gets chances but suitably pressured, Malaga defend well, Goal comes from 20 yards out after Garcia gets over run n fiorentina Break

Fiorentina-ususal high standard of tactics, good team, still unsure on RVP being the lone front man however
Malaga- Strong back four for Malaga, Unsure about midfield set up. Well written Tactics

Seeing as Soriano is doing his best to take RVP out of the game, it's essentially 10 v 10. I'm not going to lie to Twist, Fiorentina are the better team and win this game by having more quality all over the park. He's unlucky that Barrios is injured this week though, he might have gotten his manager a goal.

Malaga did their best to nullify the threat of Van Persie with the man marking from Soriano, and the back four and Garcia did their best against Farfan, Van Der Vaart and Wilshere. Fiorentina went for it bringing on Gignac alongside Van Persie with 20 minutes left, and with Malaga striking on the counter attack it was a very open end to a tight game, Malaga scored to take the lead but Fiorentina showed their quality in the end to get a draw.

Soriano did his job well to contain RVP which limited Fiorentina main goal threat, Malaga were pressed in their own half but were not really threatened it. Fiorentina cranked up the pressure when they went a goal behind and Cerci came on giving them more spark.

Hats off to you Cherry on reducing it to 1-0
Though in real life sticking 6 in defence and 2 DMs would have resulted in 6 or 7 being put past you most games. Players would just crack shots from a distance and it'd be deflection city or FKs constantly in dangerous positions.

So if we receive 9 votes then the score is divided by 4.5
If we receive 10 votes then it's divided by 5 and so on.

My league got 12 votes in (full quota) so was divided by 6.

I agree with this. If I had been voting, it would have been 3 or 4 at least for the very reason above. Having all those defenders invites pressure and makes life very difficult for your keeper to get a clear sighter and also no deflections

KB - the results are calculated by adding up all the goals, and then dividing by half the number of votes (12 votes = divide by 6)

Reminder of the announcements from Friday for those that missed them

BigFellasAfro wrote:***************FURIOUS LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT*****************

In light of CricketFan's tardiness on getting his tactics in on time*, we have decided to introduce a new incentive system.

*Not really, we were discussing it anyway, but CF being late offers a good opportunity to announce it

Managers will receive bonus cash related to if they submit tactics on time and if they vote on time including scores, scorers and comments on the vote. This will be for the League, European and Domestic Cup matches starting with next weeks GW4 European games. The bonueses will be as follows:

League matches
£500k bonus for submitting tactics AND submitting votes which include all requirements (score, scorers and explanation).

You have to match both criteria to qualify for the bonus. If you do one and not the other, you will receive nothing.

The tactics deadline to qualify for bonus is 5pm on the Friday
The voting deadline to qualify for bonus is 5pm on the Monday (subject to all criteria being included)

European cups
£100k for submitting your tactics and £100k for each set of votes (£100k if you vote on Europa, £100k if you vote on Champions Cup). This way all teams can earn £200k in total from either tactics or voting.

Domestic Cup
£200k for tactics, £200k for votes from non cup teams. (max of £200k per team)

For both European and Domestic Cups the deadlines to qualify for bonus are:
Tactics - Wednesday 5pm
Voting - Thursday 5pm

All bonuses will be calculated by me after the deadlines have passed and after discussion with the other league runners. They will then be announced on the main page. You will not be able to add any bonus until it has been formally announced.

BigFellasAfro wrote:***************FURIOUS LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT*****************

From Monday next week, the one season rule on TPs will be changing.

Up until now, if a player has not been with his club for the period of a full English season (August to May), it has been an automatic no.

Going forward with immediate effect, this rule will change to 1 calendar year. Therefore, a player will only be an automatic no if they have not seen out a full 12 months at their current club since they signed e.g. Joe Bloggski joined his Russian side on 15th February 2011 - up until 15th February 2012, any TP will receive a straight no, from 15th February 2012 onwards, it will be considered on the same basis as the rest

Is Krasic>>Pepe???

Even though Pepe is taking his position on the right at Juve and Krasic hasn't really been on fire this term?

Why can't Viva do any deals? Has he been fiddling his figures or something?

No, I am not a season ticket holder to the magic blue bus, so it will be a normal formation from me this week

If a team plays 6 defenders and they concede will they change thier tactics to go more attacking because I can't see them scoring with 6 defenders. I think naturally they would attack more it's in their instincts.
