How about a can of strawberry syrup? That way it'll always remind you of him while he bangs in goals for Lazio.

Yeah, the top comment was mine based on the above. It just seemed as if you had no real width as you were using players that can play in those positions, but aren't suited to them.

I don't see Granero running the wing for instance.

Haha, Yeah I laugh at that when reading votes. I can tell you KB but it will cost you

I'll give you £1m to your budget?

It fricks me off. What's the point in spending time writing tactics, reviewing your opponents previous tactics etc, when people can't even be bothered to pay attention?

Given that Remy has played there before for his club, i would say that gives me pretty good reason to play him there.

So, YI, Howedes and Metzelder are both instructed to man mark the lone striker, yet my stiker is told to constantly harass Howedes, with specific instructions, and the rest of my team playing around this, yet Metzelder; the same donkey that plays for Arsenal manages to mark both Howedes and Gameiro out of the game?!

You can't moan over other people reading tactics when you give those kind of results out.

1) You don't like it cause you lost.
2) Your reasoning that eventually they would shoot from long range and one would cannon in is ridiculous.

3) Teams park the bus all thye time to grind out results. Look at when Sunderland beat Man City. Practically camped in their own half, they get one chance and go for broke and win the game, so it is possible.

Cherries went to the effort of doing something different to stop you scoring, and personally i agreed that it worked, despite being ridiculous.

Just because he has played there, doesn't mean it is his best position.

It is like Gerrard being on the left for England.....yeah he played there for us, but you would not say that was his best position (I am sure there are better examples but I can't think of one off the top of my head)

My issue with your comment isnt the reasoning, more the comment itself. Fact is, they weren't instructed to play narrow, so are we automatically assuming now that when we vote we ignore tactics and decide what we think the player would do.

Howedes was told to mark the main striker, with back up from Metzelder. just because you tell him to harass Howedes does not mean your tactics instantly work, because Metzelder was watching him also. Capoue was man marking your AM. I saw that as 3v2 and the additional work from Metzelder swung it for me, as mentioned in the feedback

Your tactics were basically the same as they always are, get the ball to the attackers and work the magic, only this time, you had 6-8 players who were instructed to let nothing pass. So actually, whilst you may have gone to great lengths to write those tactics, Cherries got over what he wanted to do. Defend for your life.

Metzelder – If Giroud plays, you mark him. You are taller than him and stronger than him so you can boss him. Don’t let him get away from you. When I say mark him, I mean both man-mark him on the pitch and at set pieces.
In the event that Giroud doesn’t play, I want you to mark a second striker (if there is one) and boss him too. If there is no second striker then I want you work with Howedes to boss around the striker. Don’t let him rest a moment but try not to foul him.

Howedes – If Remy is playing as a striker I want you to mark him. You can boss him. In the event that he’s on the wing, leave him be. If Leverkusen play a single striker up front, I want you to mark him. Don’t let him get away from you (although you can keep up with him). Also, as captain, I want you to lead by example and organise the defence. Keep them in check.

His exact tactics...

Says nothing about Metzelder being backup. Basically he's gang banging my striker. Gourcuff, Granero, Remy and Ramsey comign through would still have created more space.

I know they would not instructed to play narrow but:

1) You used them as wingers to cut in
2) I don't class them as wingers.

If my wording was wrong then I apologise. However, as I have explained, you have an AM and CF playing on the wings. Anyway, my reasons was not the be all and end all of your result (whatever it was). So you didn't lose/win/draw just because of me or YI.

Sorry, but a backup would be there to shepherd and clean up should he get through. That's not what he was instructed to do.

It just takes the pee. You whinge and moan about people putting tactics up, but make your own version of them in the end any way.

In some games I have won 2-0 in the voting, yet in the same game someone has me losing 2-0.
Its swings and roundabouts.

Yes, but 2 defenders are not going to tackle the same person at the same time lol.
Meh, Rio n Evra tried with Suarez and look what heppened, Rio went head over.

Rio's faceplant was epic. I went back and paused it at the moment he landed, real javelin style.

Glad he wasn't hurt, but I was seriously cracking up at it.

Rio Ferdinand is England best defender he is million times better then the next CB, he is a proper big gameplayer reads the game like a book. An Smalling is a better CB then Jones much more calm.

But you did the same KB, I had both wingers instructed to look for free kicks and for Hulk to go to ground in the box looking for a penalty, Cherry instructed his defenders to go in rough.
None of this was picked up on though.

I think that should be corrected to Rio Ferdinand WAS England's best defender. He is nowhere near as good as he was two or three years ago.

Jonny Evans was brilliant on Saturday though Shocked

Depends on the voter Nadz.

For my vote, he would try, fail miserably and get sent off early for dangerous conduct, meaning you play most of the game with 10 men and suffer a big defeat

Afro who is better then him? Terry, Cahill, Jagielka, Dawson, Smalling, Jones no bias what so ever they are not better. Rio can pass the ball the others are cloggers and he is a big game player I rather Rio is marking Benzema then the others. He has the temprement to play in the games the others would makea silly tackle and get sent off. We need Rio unlike Gerrard and Lampard he plays well for England and can offer us vital experience.

Evans does not get the plaudits that Smalling and Jones do I think he is just as good as them if not better, people seem to forget how well he has played this season yes he has made a mistake or two but people are quick too highlight that but Jones has made much more and no one talks about it.

Evans was a liability when I saw him at Everton last season. Vidic covered for him too many times.

And at present, I would pick Cahill, Lescott, Smalling and Jagielka over present day Rio.

I would have 2009 Rio over all of them, but not 2012 Rio.

Rio is not as good as he was and I think he is more dispensable than Gerrard for England
