england v wales battle
First topic message reminder :
if England and Wales win in round 2.the match at Twickenham could have some immense battles with north v ashton, barritt v roberts, tuilagi if fit v davies plus morgan v faluteau that would be some game, especially Wales would be favourites but there record at HQ is poor.

Not like you to bite biltong. Personally I think the level of wum increases the more desperatly the team plays. From my admittedly rapid scan of my bickering thread one nation is clear leader in the volume of wum. Suprisingly its not mine.

Wales, and the Welsh are talking themselves up (as always) and to be honest i love it because when the heavy dose of reality hits, then the fall be all the further and all the more enjoyable.
Please, Little Welsh people, don't believe all that hype about your average team, because therin lies Heartache, despondancy and the usual Welsh portion of 'Humble pie'.
No, Welsh Folks, face up to it, your team is middling to average and is i believe a Hot air balloon waiting to Burst!!

Re: england v wales battle
You know I actually questioned my Any one but England credentials and I came to the conclusion that is not the case.
NZ have always been the second team I have liked to watch, then I support the celtic nations. Although the scotland - Ireland match has always given me trouble, When I went out with a girl from Aberdeen I supported the Irish and when I went out with a woman from Dublin I supported the Irish (at least I slept safely). After that I support the French because they bring a certain Je Na cest quoi to the game. The boks Ive always admired for their ruthless forward play and because Naas Botha was awesome. Afetr that its the underdog thing and you know its easy to support the underdog when your basically neutral. So that really only leaves the Australians and for some reason I dont support them. So yep I tend to support England against the ozzies. so its not really all bar england there is a clear rationale behind it that has nothing to do with any antipathy towards the sais. When I went out with a girl from Windsor I even went to Twickers for a couple of matches when Wales werent playing. All those different coloured scarfs cost a lot.

Wales are clear favourites against eng to be fair.
Much more experienced now and brought their talented kids through sooner and it is paying off.
If they win by less than 30 away to eng ill be surprised.

Yup, no way they can fail.
When an impartial observer like jd says its got a team full of the best players ever in every position then you know they are onto a winner.
And being serious. I think they are ahead of this new eng team in development. Both have good players but they edge it and will edge it.

I just love the Welsh talking up their team as Worldbeaters, its absolutely priceless from a team ranked 8th and who average 4th in 6 nations.
A team who have lost to italy on a couple of occasions, my,oh my i don't know what they put in the Water there but there has to be some kind of hallucinogenic, because if wales beat England at all, never mind by 30 points , i'll probably end up on something myself. Come on Welsh folks, shake yourselves out of it!!!

Calm down.
There's the usual air of optimism but, this time, I don't personally think its unfounded. Good young team this.
Actually them and eng could have a few good years ahead of them.

Re: england v wales battle
I think this is going to be a close match, and if both teams go through this weekend without injuries, I don't see there being many changes in both teams. For Wales, the only player that would be brought into the team would be Alun Wynn Jones who is now fit to resolve the second row. For England, Tuigiali, Flood and Lawes are now fit, but again, I can't see them breaking into the winning 15. I think Ben Morgan should start, he's learnt his trade in Wales after all, so knows them better than anyone.
The weather will play a part in this game as well, if it's wet, this will fall into England's favour, as their set piece is their bread and butter.
But, the only way England will win this match, is through Wales's mistake's and penalty's. England doesn't present a threat attacking wise, well, not good enough for Wales defence anyway. Wales should win, as long as they behave and keep playing entertaining rugby!

Last week showed some frailties in the welsh defence though. Otherwise seems a fair assessment. Unless eng can click the will find it very hard to win.

Unless Hodgson can get his giant swollen head in the way of another clearence kick I think the Welsh defense will hold up.
By the way I'm suggesting that Hodgson has a physically giant cranium , not that he's arrogant.
Loved the Ashton pre match interview today , he was like Princess Diana fluttering his eyelashes at the camera ' I'm a good girl I am'

Re: england v wales battle
Yeah, England are not playing well, but traditionally struggle against both Scots and Italians, before they beat them, which is what seems to have happened thus far!!
England are not playing at all well, but momentum is growing and they are Winning, which seems to be the mark of a potentially good team, maybe not this 6 nations , but for the future.
Wales are playing alright, but nearly lost their last match and are nothing like as good as they are being painted. Can't wait for the 25th and hope that England make use of the training opportunities over the next fortnight , so that they can truly show the Welsh side up for what it is, overrated!!

We need to get the win today first. When we get to twickenham I expect it to be close, I think we are the better team but England are never an easy proposition for anybody espeacialy when at home. For me its 50/50 which is strange because I think we are playing better and I would not pick any English player in Wales first choice xv apart from maybe Foden at full back and Halfpenny to wing, but thats only on his club form.

seems a long time since we were saying you wouldn't put any welsh players in an England side. Sports always goes in circles.
To be fair. I think you do them a disservice. I think the forwards are well matched and some could and also the backs are not as bad as you think. Wales favourites but not the class above that seems to be assumed at the mo.

As long as we are a class above you lot that's all that matters and won't be difficult. 15+ victory for Wales at a canter, possibly getting into 3rd gear.
