England - Italy Match thread
First topic message reminder :
Looking forward to the game, had no idea they had that much snow. Pitch doesn't look too good!
EDIT: Got to comment on Guscutt's scarf, it's soooo bad!!

Well, if we win from here it'll be quite something! I reckon we could, but it's a hell of an ask.
Come on lads!

he isn't doing anywhere near as bad as you think!
England just aren't getting any quick ball from Youngs, just like last week, it all looks so slow and premeditated they're having to force the game to get anywhere and right now they're getting nowhere.
England will go down today, I kind of expected it this morning.
i see your pinning it all on Youngs which is complete bull.
It's bull saying I'm pinning it all on Youngs, but as the main distributor it's where it starts isn't it? Foden is also having a poor game, does that make you feel better?
lol, couple of mistakes (which all players in all games make) and there having a poor game!!

I have Italian relatives so I have an excuse to support Italy, in my defense, but I also have another excuse to want England to lose... I'm Welsh!

I'm behind Italy on this one. Not for the sake of seeing England lose but for the sake of Rugby and the development of the Azzuri.

Well I care that england must win as my sportguru prediction needs the win.AlynDavies wrote:I have Italian relatives so I have an excuse to support Italy, in my defense, but I also have another excuse to want England to lose... I'm Welsh!
Even though I will be very happy for Italy if they would win.
Talk about being confused.

Nothing to do with being Welsh then?Morgannwg wrote:I'm behind Italy on this one. Not for the sake of seeing England lose but for the sake of Rugby and the development of the Azzuri.
Cmon it's ok to admit you support the English football team, but despise the English rugby team, it's not racist...

This is where the Italian experience is likely to tell, I fear. Play territory and wait for cold inexperienced players to fumble. Not the most exciting game, but the right one for the Italians, I feel.

The last thing England want to do is let their indiscipline give away good field position.

Didn't like the short line-out - shows a sneaky unscrupulous willingness to cheat to me.

Italy have to play it cool here. Hold on to the ball, go through the phases, and use their experience. They have an edge there for a change. Kicking it to Englands back 3 will misfire.

Personally it's not that I want England to lose it's more that I want Italy to win. It's great to see them making such quick progress and a win against a big team like England will do a lot for the game in Italy

Welol, three penalties wasn't the fumble I was thinking of, but it's definitely a fumble.

Knackeredknees wrote:That is true Griff, however our default setting is not ABEGriff wrote:We're often told by England fans on here that it is their business if they want to support the team that Wales is playing. And why should they support Wales? etc., etc. They have a point really as why would they support Wales when they're not Welsh??? Therefore the opposite is also true: why should anyone support England if they are not English? People will support who they like. Let them get on with it.
Neither is my 'default setting' ABE. It used to be but, like a number of other Welsh fans, the England rivalry is waning for me now. It's still good if we do get a win over you, but it's not the making of the tournament for me any more. It only gives me the same pleasure as any other win now. I look forward to the Ireland game and SH games more now.
