England - Italy Match thread
First topic message reminder :
Looking forward to the game, had no idea they had that much snow. Pitch doesn't look too good!
EDIT: Got to comment on Guscutt's scarf, it's soooo bad!!

Anyone know why Bergamasco wasnt in the 6n squad?
Is he injured or just not picked?
Cos hes a hard worker but more importantly hes a consistent kicker

Italy were lucky there with the knock-on. The kick was not the option.

Italy will be frustrated with the loss. So close.

Well done England. I was almost spot on my SG picks.

Hmmmmmm, Lancaster needs to think very carefully about his starting XV against Wales.
Toughed another one out but nothing to write home about.

England should thank chargedown hodgson for this win.
Up until his chargedown england didn't look inspired at all.

Well played England. Showed great character there. Building momentum for Wales. Italy should be kicking themselves.. but they'd probably miss.

Yep, well done England. Took balls to come back from being down away from home. Italy didn't help themselves on times, but England forced them into errors.

Italy will be gutted but i cant praise Hodgson enough for his charge down. He really showed some speed and for the second game in a row gave England the boost they needed because up until then Italy were dominating the game.

I can't believe the alignment of the Italy backline throughout. Staggeringly deep.

England have been so dire and won 2 games, god help us if they learn how to play well!
Fair play though, they went to Italy and won and thats all you can really ask any team to do these days, especially in these freezing conditions.

Re: England - Italy Match thread
Another win for England today, not the most highest of scores 19-15.
All due respects to Italy, they played very well today.
Another charge down by Hodgson and another try by him.
Now we can look forward to the Wales game in 2 weeks time.

Commentator is a joke.. "England win, they're gathering momentum!" "Another gutsy performance!!"
Pretty sure Italy missed two penalties, gifted a try to hodgson (who did very well to get another charge) and then completely kooked almost every other passage of play.
I think the only positives England can take are the subs they made. If I were an English fan I would be veryyyy concerned.

Well that is the important thing to note here, they did the same thing in the RWC. Win poorly, but still they keep winning. I have been told when a team keeps winning whilst playing poorly it is the sign of a good team.

Every game is an entity unto itself in this gig. England have won 2 from 2 and learned a lot as a team. Egro... they will only get better. Its how it works.
Might put a few shillins on them to win it.

Why exactly?
There a new team
They have a new coach
There playing away from home
They have there main 10 out injured
I don't think any England fan seriously thought we'd come out and play brilliant rugby after 2 games...

Re: England - Italy Match thread
I should say well done to England, two wins on the road so they're in a good position now despite not playing well. They looked quite good with the ball in hand at times.
Italy need to learn how to win. They fell asleep and deserved to lose. Don't know what Parisse was thinking going for the posts on 73 min rather than going for the lineout.
England kept giving them lifelines and they blew each one.
