Behaviour on the Board
Hello all, as you're all very much aware, it's 6 Nations time, and the rugby board on here is pretty busy. It's 6 Nations time, and most of you are feeling a combination of excitement, patriotism, and nerves. As a result you're keeping the Mod team pretty busy at the moment, so I thought I'd post a few reminders and observations. If only because at various times over the past 3 weeks I've felt like banning half of you
So here goes:
We love rugby debate. Passionate people putting up their opinions on what has happened, and what they think will happen is great. Just remember that people are allowed to disagree with you, and they may just possibly be right. Even I'm wrong occasionally. Not often mind you .
Banter is fine. There's no way a bunch of rugby fans are going to chat about the game without a bit of banter. There's a fine line between banter and wumming. At times it's hard to tell which is which, especially if you've got a history of similar types of posts (you know who you are - remember not to overdo it). Please remember that you're not talking to people face to face, and little nuances of expression don't always come through in writing. That goes for both those writing and those reading posts - don't go out to deliberately offend, and don't go looking to be offended.
Personal abuse is not OK. If the best you can manage in response to someone else's post is to call them an idiot or similar, you've probably long since lost the argument. Better to walk away, and try harder. Because if you are making an arse of yourself you'll be hearing from the Mod team. And you probably will have heard from us already.
This is a family-friendly and workplace-friendly forum. So if you type something that your Mum would have clipped you round the ear/put you on the naughty step for saying when you were 12, don't be surprised if you hear from the Mod team. So lay off the mis-spelled swearwords. I shouldn't have to tell anyone that racism, sexism and other -isms aren't going to make you popular (and in fairness, -isms aren't a common occurence).
Otherwise, us Mods can't read every single post - we do have day jobs, and lives. Well, most of us do anyway . So please do tell us if you think someone's being a prat. We might not agree with you, but we will look into it. Remember most WUMs are looking for a reaction. If they don't get one, they lose. The Mod team does keep track of people who're creating work for us. If you're hearing from us regularly it probably means you're creating work, and our patience only stretches so far.

So we can't say ignorism, stupidism, arrogantism, daftism,
I have learnt not to comment during matches as it is a big cause for "isms"
Oh, and Wales is great.

Hmmm, as for realism and optimism ...
That's what I get for trying to be a bit fancy in my wording

I wonder if there is a word such as neutralism?
Or maybe neutral observationism?
If not then I suppose my involvement with the six nation is more don't care-ism who winism

Re: Behaviour on the Board
Now can I be Scottishism, which is a little know clan of one and a half eyed Scots who realise that their team is pants, gets very passionate and thinks they could be much better
I certainly do not have Andy Robinsonism, as that would need to be treated at a Rugby Fourm Clinic
I may have to rely on knockonism, but that seems to be banned as well (take note Chunk)
I hope that people who disagree do not have schism in there beliefs of who is the best players
Of course by 2013 we will have Lionism, where many people get one eyeism

If someone is being annoying can we refer to them as a buttplug and you all let it slide? It's the replacement insult for 'douchebag.'

Wouldn't know SAM. Not a Justin Bieber fan. I am pretty sure there would be a message board on V2 for you to go and discuss him though. That way you don't have to pester the rugby supporters like Morg over here.

Fly thinks he might feel comfortable doing it because Fly doubts Morgannwg is on Morgannwg's passport.
He has a point, never get too close to your nom de plume...he might stab you in the back one day and steal your inheritance. Nope, keep him at arms length says Fly.

It must bother the people who have felt the need to mention it in a comment over the past couple days. They had better get used to it though because Morg won't change his ways.

Re: Behaviour on the Board
Wum energy does create heat so it is much more efficient than cold, clinical, rugby factual energy. The latter energy needs a lot of lagging to keep the freeze of boredom at bay.
I'd settle for a balance of both energies - when combined they are a very efficient green alternative indeed.

Re: Behaviour on the Board
Grey Ghost possessed a cosmic repulsion from anything English, (coming from the other pole of the planet) making it impossible for him to come back as an Englishman. As to his origins, I think he was an incarnation of the other English Anti-matter left over from the old Moffats Ghost implosion and disappearnce from planet 606. He might of course return to galaxy 606v2 as a referee - his other obsession. Kinda miss his anti English fulminations, and I am English.

Re: Behaviour on the Board
I'm more worried about the incursion of weird pony cartoon postings into the forum with TypicalOspreys. They freak me out, slow down the page loads and frankly have nothing to do with rugby. What's the feeling on this? Should he be banned until he quits with the my little pony obsession?
As for GG, well people who come onto a proper English forum, in England, live in England and relentlessly run down England should be taken out and forced to look at freaky cartoon pony art until they learn to behave.

Re: Behaviour on the Board
Ok, I was wrong to say "proper English forum". But you know my point, it upsets me to see someone living in a country continually running it down. I don't know if it's homesickness or whatever, but certain people need to sort out their attitude. If you make your home in a country, you should at least be polite about customs and traditions and sensitive to the followers of the national teams. Biting the hand that feeds you is going to wind up biting you on the bum eventually.

I dunno, I think its been quite civil on 606v2. Looking back on the old beeb606 board, this time of year was horrendous! The bickering thread has been a good laugh. Some good harmless banter. A couple can't take a joke, naming no one (yes you viewtothewhatever ), 21st century miserable scot......
