I agree that Flood shouldn't have got the 10 shirt back, but I would have him on the bench in place of Hodgson.

At present you have Hodgson who only covers 10 and Brown who only covers 15. If 11-14 have to go off injured it means a backline reshuffle rather than just bringing someone on in place of the man going off. Flood at least covers 10 and 12, and in reality, can give England everything else that Hodgson can as well.

I agree with you bathite. Would've been very harsh and unworthy if Flood snuck in to the squad.

It's an odd one with Beauxis, plays well for Toulouse but when he came on the other day for France he took all of their momentum away. Can't see what is wrong with FTD or Parra at the moment. There are others I would've considered before Box anyway. He's had his chance at that level IMO

To be fair they only put him on to kick the drop goal and it didn't happen.

I'd take Skrela above him

Flood was excellent for Tigers on Sunday and the best English FH at getting the backs involved. Agree Farrell deserves to keep the shirt but I can't see what impact Hodgson brings tbh

Flood was good on sunday for the first time in a long while, but it was in the wet, behind a super dominant pack against a second string glos at home!

O'Ryan and O'Mahony - both have to start next week, maybe drop Heaslip for O'Brian though?

Heaslip hasn't been great for a few years tbh, has the odd belter but usually average.

Love to see:

4. O'Ryan
5. O'Connoll
6. O'Ferris
7. O'Mahony
8. O'Brien

Think SOB is over rated, would take an out of form heaslip over him. Ryan having a blinder though, as is POM, ferris class as always

Bathite it needs to be O'Ryan to complete the back five O' patten Wink

Looking forward to seeing Sharples tomorrow, slightly concerned about his defence at the top level but he deserves a shot.

I'm eager to see Sharples in the side tomorrow. Would maybe like to have seen Ashton dropped earlier for him. Let Ashton play his way back into the England side. I wish I could say the same for Youngs, but he is the only decent SH off the top of my head.

Yea I agree with Ashton, he's been poor. You can normally forgive his poor defence because he scores at a steady rate but I've just seen him as a liability tbh.

SOB is a good player but I tend to agree with bathite that he is a bit overated at times. He is a monster ball carrier, and very very effective at what he does, but for me lacks a little bit of rugby nous and can be a touch one dimensional.

Still a very good player and with the right player sin the back row with him can have a big influence on games.

Think it's best for all if I call it a day here.

My activity just isn't up to scratch an pete's league takes precedent as I've been in it much longer.

Shouldn't have too much trouble filling the Sarries job. It's a top side (although 6N call ups have killed the side for this season...)

Apologies, tried to give it a go but I'm just not going the side justice.

Agreed, does what he does very well, but tends to be the flashy stuff. Great player, not doubting that, but blessed by quality around him that compliment his skill set. Could well be one of the best 6s, but got nothing on Ferris. Agree with pete, he is a touch brain dead, for every big carry he makes, he butchers an overlap, but luckily he gets away with it because Leinter are awesome and create so many chances.

I think SOB gets tarnished with being just an open field runner somewhat. I'm a big fan and he does a lot of dirty work, he just happens to be electric in the loose. He carried out the second most completed tackles in the HC last year which points away from being a "flashy" player imo

I actually prefer him at 6 over Ferris and 8 over Heaslip, I think 7 ties him down too much.

I thought you hated stats!

Not better than Ferris, he is beast. Might well be soon, but not yet. O'Mahoney looked good as well I thought, could argue this might be first choice back row at the moment

6 Ferris
7 O'MAhoney
8 SOB

I thought he played a seven well. He could do the open side stuff although it constricted the open running side of his game. SOB could play inside centre of he a period of time to play there lol

SOB is not a 7. He is a 6 or 8. The problem is that if everyone is on top form, he's not a better 6 than Ferris, nor is he a better 8 than Heaslip.

Back rows are about balance, and I think POM would give better balance to Ireland at 7.

Wallace is a good operator. But I think he wil struggle coming back from injury so late in his career.

Do we have a waiting list to replace Luke. Sad to see him go, but we need to fill the gap before the League games start again, IMO would be good to start earlier rather that later!
