I've been watching Farrell really closely, I tell you what, he is a brave tough little bugger. Watch him take down props and locks head on in the tight, first phase. Really impressive, wouldn't see hodgson or flood do that.

Not now Servat is on. Szwarkeski is such a poor scrummager he hinders the props
I like Farrell but he kicks away so much possession

Why can't we bring Morgan back on as blood for Dowson? Would make s hit loads more sense than Webber at 6 and Robshaw at 8?

Huge set piece performance as well, really upset the french at scrum and lineout. Boy, the french are going to miss Servat pulling them out of the c rap each time. Have to say that dropping Parra and playing Beauxis might well have cost them this

Beauxis is tripe.
Jury out still on Farrell me, he kicks so much ball away and reverts to Sarries type too much. Still young and defends like a lion but I'm not convinced

Kicks some away yes, but so do all 10s. I'd rather he did that from time to time and be solid, then try things that don't come off

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
France scrum has not been great all 6 nations. Only really dominant against the Scots. France were tripe for the first 25 minutes, and England should have put the game to bed before half time.
Farrell defended well, but he lacks the all round game at the moment. Flood on form is the better player. Croft played well, as did Barrit. Ashton could have effectively lost the game for England with that stupid penalty he gave away, and even after that he was giving too much talk. He needs to get away from the England setup and find some form. But not sure if he'll get a game at Saints??
Ireland were ok yesterday. Ryan was exceptional. O'Mahony was good and should start against England. I wouldn't mind seeing ROG start against England with Sexton at 12. Darcy offers so little, and ROG's experience could be vital especially without POC and BOD.
The England - Ireland game will be very interesting. Its pretty much a second place playoff.

"Farrell defended well, but he lacks the all round game at the moment. Flood on form is the better player"
I can't believe it's a debate to be honest, Flood is a better player than Farrell and should be starting 10 for England.
You can't fault Farrell though and he's done a cracking job, if he can stop kicking it and add a running game of sorts he'll be a great 10. He infuriates me with his kicking away of possesion though, poor Sharples hardly got a touch.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Yes Flood is the better player. But is he good enough to walk straight back into the shirt without any form? I'd say not. He should have been on the bench though. If Farrell wants to be starting 10 in the summer tests he needs to be starting at 10 for Sarries, but can't see that happening.
If Sarries want to challenge for the Heineken they need to add another dimension. Hopefully this will make Farrell improve his running/passing game. Likewise if England want to challenge the SH teams they need develop a running game. Not to the level of France or Aus but they need it in their locker along with the kicking game. But i don't think it will ever happen because when its being developed the results will be shoite and the coach will be under too much pressure so will revert to type and employ the kicking game that gets a top 3 finish in the 6 nations but no more success than that.

Just seen that Kaino is out for 6 months, that's a big loss and bad timing for whoever it was that just bought him on here. Thomson in some cracking form though, time for him to try and keep the shirt perhaps? Will Richie play for NZ again?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
McCaw just signed new 4 year deal with AB's. Expect him to be used less for Super rugby and saved for Ints whilst they groom a replacement.
Kaino big loss but good time to get injured if that makes sense, only missing super rugby.
Thompson is class in S15 but never really cut it at Int, not the physical presence to compliment McCaw/Read. Kaino is mustard

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Oh great I'm jinxed!
Would like to see maybe Luke Whitelock in action, meant to be the best of the lot from the word of their coaches.
Can see McCaw in the Martyn Williams sort of role for NZ over the next few years. Who is the next 7 in line, Braid? Todd? Latimer? Messam?
I rate Thomson, but he seems a bit lightweight, however does bring a good lineout game for NZ.

"Good time to get injured" yep, I agree, except it might cost him a shot at the big bucks in NH.
Thomson not had much of a chance at int level and having a great start to the season, so we will see. Vito's stock seems to have plummeted and I think most 'Canes players are going to struggle this year, especially the forwards after losing so many ABs. Guess that Todd is the obvious like for like replacement and under Richie's wing and getting so much gametime at the Crusaders, can only be a good thing.
No one predicting then? Less then 24 hours to go

I'll be on tomorrow.
Younger Braid lad, Cane & Todd seem likely to step up. McCaw will possibly make next WC, awsome athlete and has game to last. Such a clever player.
Thomson is 30yo with 20+ caps, remember him being first choice 6 in about 2009?? Just misses a little at top level. Very very fast though, think he'd do Croft over first 20m
