Friday 24 February, Scotland Club International team vs the XV of France, Millbrae, Ayr, kick-off 7.30pm

A return call up for Alan Dymock means he won’t be required to turn out for Glasgow and he returns to a fixture that promises the usual mix of tough competitiveness and amateur era camaraderie. Having warmed up against the Under 20s, the Club International side have not had a run-out yet this Six Nations, as they like the A Team don’t have a full competitive tournament.

Scotland Club International Team: Fraser Harkness (Selkirk), Callum Anderson (Aberdeen Grammar), Ross Curle (Ayr), Dean Kelbrick (Glasgow Hawks), Fraser Thomson (Melrose), Lee Millar (Gala), Richard Snedden (Currie); Alan Dymock (Heriot’s), Sean Crombie (CAPTAIN) (Boroughmuir), Alan Brown (Dundee HSFP), Rory McKay (Glasgow Hawks), Scott Sutherland (Ayr), Graeme Dodds (Melrose), Rob Colhoun (Ayr), Ross Weston (Currie)
Replacements: Fraser Brown (Heriot’s), John Cox (Currie), Gary Holborn (Melrose), Richard Hawkins (Dundee HSFP), Andrew Rose (Boroughmuir), Morgan Ward (Aberdeen Grammar), Stuart Edwards (Stirling County), Danny Gilmour (Stirling County)

Friday 24 February, Scotland under-20 v France under-20, Netherdale, Galashiels, kick-off 7.30pm

With a small reshuffle to the squad, Peter Wright still has to do without Edinburgh’s Robin Hislop but Harry Leonard continues in the captain’s armband, being arguably the next most experienced. Having fronted up against the Welsh in Colwyn Bay and scored a couple of tries through Jamie Farndale, the Scots are still left chasing a win and will hope that this weekend’s match against France does not represent a return to the tough lessons they faced against England.

Scotland Under-20 Team: Sam Hidalgo-Clyne (Scotland 7s/Heriot’s), Jamie Farndale (Edinburgh Rugby/Edinburgh Accies), Robbie Fergusson (Ayr), Finn Russell (Falkirk), Michael Crawley (Boroughmuir), Harry Leonard (Edinburgh Rugby) (capt.), Matt Torrance (Ospreys); Jamie Bhatti (Stirling County), George Turner (Edinburgh Rugby/Stewart’s Melville), Alex Allan (Loughborough Students), Adam Sinclair (Stirling County), Jonny Gray (Hamilton), Mitch Eadie (Bristol Rugby), Will Bordill (Sale Sharks), Jamie Swanson (Boroughmuir)
Replacements: Russel Anderson (Gala), Gavin Robertson (Dundee HSFP), Andrew Redmayne (Dundee HSFP), Callum Reid (Edinburgh Accies), Callum Maguire (Berwick), Murray McConnell (Glasgow Warriors) Jack Bradford (Nottingham), Tom Steven (Glasgow Hawks)

Sean Crombie has been playing very well for Burghmuir. I Proped for him all the way through our club younger days @ Kirkcaldy and he was always headed for good things.

Good choice for captain.
