woul be sad about this but there are a lot of great pass rusherrs in this years draft,
this move has cemented seattle 1st round draft pick as a DE

yeah but not sure seattle is in the proper range for value. Coples will be gone and upshaw, perry, mercilus and others would be reaches there, any idea what Seattle are doing qb wise?

Great coup for the Bills, their defensive line looks awesome! Mario Williams/Kyle Williams/Marcell Dareus/draft pick?

I think there is a chance that Melvin Ingram is still around, probably dependent on Miami not getting either Manning or Flynn

No official deal in place for Mario yet, according to an NFL source, however, he just picked his fiancee up at the Buffalo airport to show her around town it looks like.

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
People laughed when I said the Bucs would spend.......
2 amazing signings, Make the O-line a strength and the Wide receiver position looks relatively strong too. Wright was pretty decent at the Browns but horrible last season, I don't think it was completely his fault, Detroit as a whole had a terrible defence, but we certainly overpaid for him. Linebacker is still a must, hopefully Lofton when he reduces his price. Lofton is not worth the 9 million he is looking for.
With the draft coming up I would be looking for
Claiborne, Lavont David or Hightower if he slips and probably LMJ. A pretty good offseason so far and I think there might be one or two more to follow.

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
titans beat seahawks to hutchinson signing, cj2k and maybe manning must be delighted, especially if myers follows suit
chris cook has been aquitted, thats one starter for next year I didn't think would be around

League could still suspend him, but right now he's probably the best cornerback on the Vikings roster so this is a major bonus.niner wrote:chris cook has been aquitted, thats one starter for next year I didn't think would be around

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
dont know, he has been arrested twice but nothing has come from it. The secondary is poor but I could deal with winfield and cook as starters if it means every safety on the roster bar raymond is cut

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
Skins have signed Brandon Meriweather. Similar kinda player to Landry which means he can have his ups and downs. He does have one big advantage over Landry though - he can at least get on the field.
I'll be sorry to see Landry leave but he's just injured too often now to be counted upon. His insistence on getting surgery for that Achilles that has been injured for 2 years now just makes it too hard to re-sign him.

Lloyd and Moss on the same team???? BOOM!!!!!!!!!
In fairness, Lloyd may have matured a bit these days but I still can't help but think of the kid with the bad attitude that sulked around the Redskin's sideline a few seasons ago!

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
maybe its just be being a fan of the titans, but would adding manning, myers and hutchinson not give the titans one of the best offenses in the league, a top 5 left tackle, right tackle, center and guard and another average guard with manning, cj2k, britt and washington/emerging williams

Don't forget Cookie! On paper yes, if Britt stays health and perhaps if we draft high on another WR as now most decent WR FA's are gone, tbf just adding Manning would make most teams considered as a great offense - presuming he is as good as he was before the injury. As a Titans fan I'm torn, as I detested Manning for as long as I've been watching football, but still, you can't deny he's a great QB that would improve our team. Personally on balance I hope he goes to the Broncos as I think him coming to the Titans could hinder Jake Locker's development, and I'm a big Locker fan and really want to see him do well for the Titans.

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
Until I just saw that the Browns have signed two DE's and said Frostee Rucker will be starting, I thought we could take Coples but think it's probably only Blackmon now, still think it's fairly likely Ingram and Coples are gone by the 12th pick.bambamwillis wrote:niner wrote:yeah but not sure seattle is in the proper range for value. Signings for the Browns is that Dimitri Patterson will be back on a 3 year $16million deal, with $6million guaranteed. Also signed a pair of DE's Frostee Rucker to start RDE and Juqua Parker as a back up DE.

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
I have a sneaky feeling the Browns will take Richardson, and a receiver with either 22nd pick or top of the 2nd. Will be interested to see more mocks after free agency, only the top 3 are set in stone for me, the rest of the top 10 could go anywhere

have family who followed the titans before i got into the sport so saw their games sometimes but decided to get my own team- the niners, about 6 years ago but still count titans as my AFC team. Also have interest in Vikings because of friends but niners always a priority

If Cleveland now miss out on Flynn, I'd expect them to look at trading down if they possibly can and taking Tannehill. Can't see them spending their top pick on him, but drop down too far and they risk getting nobody they want/need.

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
hope manning signs with titans today, in other news i was stopped for going 22mph on a 30 road, too fast for wet conditions apparently, police just love to moan at young drivers don't they, if i did something wrong, wheres my ticket?

Where was this? Can't ticket you if you've done nothing illegal can they?
Revising my thinking on Manning going to Miami, given that Miami have not said anything publicly. If they wanted him that bad, they aren't making a big enough play for him. But now Flynn is looking more likely to be a Seahawk, who do Miami go after? Compete with the Browns for Tannehill?
Titans do make sense Hasselbeck will just move on and Locker will learn if only by osmosis, but in Denver shifting Tebow could be a headache for all 3 parties. Manning doesn't need the hassle.

Re: 2012 Free Agency News
in elderslie, guy just stopped me to then say he wasn't going to give me a ticket but that i should watch my speed(which was well under the limit). I then told him that in wet conditions, stopping distance is more important than speed, especaially if you are already going slow, different traffic rules apply to 18-21 year olds in Scotland apparently

wuldn't cut hasselbeck, cleveland or another team may be so desperate that they would offfer a pick in the 4th-6th round range, if not cut him the late

Yeah, Cards have about 2 hours to pick up Kolb's bonus, so looks like they're out of the running

Wow Peyton with the 49ers.
Manning throwing to Vernon Davis, whatever remains of Randy Moss, and a draft pick/Brandon Lloyd/Manningham. With Gore and Hunter running the ball, and a top 3 defence, we could be looking at a mini dynasty! Just got to try not to get carried away before anything even happens

It won't surprise me if this is just a ruse to get Alex Smith to sign the contract that is on the table.bambamwillis wrote:Wow Peyton with the 49ers.

Can't see a scenario where we have Peyton Manning willing to come for a workout and physical, be included in his final 3 teams (reportedly) and then tell him we were just using him as bait for Alex Smith...

Wells has gone to the Rams. Very good signing for them and it might be a big loss for Green Bay.

Quite disappointed by this. May mean that the Packers aim at Zietler in the draft, though would possibly have to trade up and I don't think that's too likely... of course they could delve into free agency and go after Chris Myers, but this is the Packers so they are too late to the table and he has just been resigned...
