The aim of this thread is that I will post a YouTube link up to a song that I am a fan of. The next person that comments rates the song out of ten and then puts his own link up and so on and so on! Hope it picks up, its a way for everyone to be introduced to others music tastes!

I'll give it a 7/10, he's got a nice voice but for my The Drugs Don't Work is the Verve's best song and very very powerful, and as such I don't feel I can appreciate anyone else's version.

Especially as the lyrics are all about Richard Ashcroft losing his father to illness, and because of that there's such pain and emotion in his voice when he sings it it's beautiful.

Yeah I love the Gaslight Anthems, gutted I missed them in Glastonbury about 3 years ago - went to see the Bootleg Beatles instead and when we came back everyone was raving about them and Bruce Springsteen had gone on stage with them to do a few songs. (damn)

8/10 for this song, ain't heard it before though I do like the Cure a lot. It's very slow, but nice and chilled.

I hate Dire Straits chirpy stuff (especially Sultans of Swing, what a waste of talented musicians) it's all about the sad songs and the soulful guitar. As for DJs, each to their own. I'm of the opinion that there is no such thing as a type of music that is bad, any music can be done well including remixing.

Fair play chequered. I generally don't have a type that I listen to. I've just got very annoyed at the DJ last night as he had everything hooked up and his headphones on and just seemed to have an itunes playlist. And it was in a quiet enough pub where ya should have just had a bit of live music or even a jukebox.

I can't review this. I clicked on 'watch video' and the message that came up read, 'the address wasn't understood'. What I'll say about Springsteen is that I think he's one hell of an artist - just an artist whose work I haven't really explored. 'Dancing in the Dark' and especially 'I'm on Fire' are fantastic songs.

I gotta say as well that I can't stand DJs, my pet hate is when you get DJs in club nights where they 'dub' up loads of popular songs and destroy them without showing any creativity or originality themselves.
