I think the refs do really well most of the time. They are bound to make some errors, unavoidable. As long as they are honest I can tolerate it. Jol said the ref would have to be brave to give a penalty against Utd at OT. That shouldn't be the case. A pen is a pen regardless of for who or when. You know what Jol means though and that needs correcting if possible. Hence, use TV technology. Only takes a few seconds. If there is any doubt, no penalty. Simple.

SAF said Utd could have had a pen first half when Kelly handled. Would have been harsh imo although after the Essien pen vs City, it was probably another stonewaller by comparison.

Not that I'm bitter. Cry

It is a hard job but when they have a good view and can see the incident, surely they should get them right?

Eto'o for me. He's a bit marginalised out in Russia but still a class player. Soldado looks a good player but not sure he's proven on the biggest stages, yet.

Im not particularly keen on Silva on the RW. I think he works better in the free role behind the strikers ala Fabregas for Arsenal.

Thanks both

Need to have Silva on a wing as I have Rooney playing the 'deeper' role.

You are likely to be exempt from predos this time although if you want to do so, no problem.

We don't do tactics on here, just teamsheets plus subs. They are due by 11 pm on Tuesday's but as long as you have a line up plus subs on your team page it can be taken from there. It just makes it easier to copy if you put it on the main match thread. OK

Who's available from your squad?

Would prefer it if you did predict Brahma, the more opinions the better. For the league matches, you get a predictions bonus too, £3 mil for full predos (with descriptions), £1 mil for just scores

Dortmund are increasingly looking strong, managing to get Reus over Bayern was a great coup.
Add to that that they bring in the 2nd highest gate in Europe after Barca and above Utd, they just need to keep on a steady path and not go crazy with wages etc (currently at 48% which is good)

Is that true? More than Bayern? Impressive. Must have a big stadium then.

Or do they just have a very large gate at the entrance to the ground?

It's not capacity based, it's average attendances over the course of a season.

I do genuinely believe that Germany will win the Euros this summer over Spain.
Akinfeev was certainly decent a couple of years back but I think he had started to go off the boil and then suffered another cruciate ligament rupture of which he's been injured with since August, he is due back anytime now though so will be interesting to see how he's recovered.

Germany will certainly be one of the favourites going in. I do think that the Spanish counterparts, on paper, are better in almost every position though, with the exception of Lahm.

I disagree with that for sure.

He may be getting on but can stick cut it against the very best.

Goetze>Mata? really?

He has only played one full season whilst Mata has been brilliant for Valencia and has been impressive for Chelsea.

Hero - I think we have had this discussion before Laugh

I'm more incline to rate players that are playing at the biggest competitions and competing against the best.

No disrespect to the German league as it also one of the toughest leagues around.

When is Villa back? He has been injured a long while now...even Vidic

I mean Serie A as a whole. Whilst the top teams can up their game and compete against the other sides in Europe there is a huge gulf in class to the lower Serie A teams.

As I said Cherries, you're playing against other teams in Europe. Based on starting squads, Juve would be in the bottom 3 of this league, hence the big starting budget.

Put it this way.

There are 12 teams in this league. Do you think that Cavani/Matri are in the top 12 strikers in the world?

Assuming not, by definition you'll come up against a better striker in the other side each week.

Do the same for other positions.
