I'd have Cavani amongst the top 12 certainly.

And the gulf in class between the top and the bottom?

Are Wigan, Wolves etc that decent?

IMO

Matri No
Cavani No

Serie A can't be used as a basis to judge a decent side. It's a farce some weeks, not great viewing. My rugby side is unbeaten all season and has scored over 1,000 points. I have scored 14 tries..

I certainly rate Bale and Modric who have played in big games and succeeded i.e CL and have been consistently good in their domestics

Modric is a consistently quality player.

I haven't seen Serie A for a while so not going to comment on that

Never seen it to be entertaining up until the Baggio, Del Piero, Batistuta, Ronaldo era.

I missed those days...football italia on channel 4

Blimey, I've missed a lot this morning.

For the record, Napoli lost to us so they must be shocking!

I think Lavezzi is a better player than Cavani tbh. He was the real threat for Napoli imo.

I think the main reason behind the differences of opinion on here is down to what football people watch. I watch the PL and La Liga but see very little of the Bundesliga or Serie A. Hence, I can rate PL and La Liga players well against each other but find it harder to rate the Hummel's, Hamsik's etc of the world since I don't see enough of them. The reverse may be true of those who favour watching German and Italian football over Spanish or English.

As for the German defenders, assuming the old guard of Mertesacker and Friedrich will not start (or even go), it will be interesting to see how they do against the best in Europe.

One thing I will say is that Gomez is very underrated on here. He is a top goalscorer.

I am looking forward to the Euros. Happy that Capello has gone. I think it is a plus for England, not a minus. OK, planning down the swanny but it wasn't looking great anyway. Now we have little to lose so seat of the pants stuff. Go for it rather than being so timid like at the WC.

I'm finding it tricky who to target as replacements for my CB's.

Are there any options outside of...

Terry
Vidic
or Pique

that wouldn't be considered a weakness for Madrid standard?

I wouldn't even consider Terry by a mile.

Best central defenders for me are...

Kompany
Chiellini
Vidic
Hummels
Silva
Pique

My City side have really slipped away.. two draws and a loss in the last 3 games.

Thought I had enough to hold Barca at home.. the extra goal has killed me though.

Up for deals, all players for sale.

There are so many funny rumours such as...

- Realised that despite being his son in law, Maradona loves Messi more. His moral compass is now hurting.

- Stefan Savic tackled him in training, he collapsed in embarrassment, and knocked himself unconscious

- he tried to gate crash Uniteds press conference only to find fergies hairdryer in the way

- The ball from Charlie Adam's penalty came back down to earth and hit him in the face

- Wore all of Giggs' medals and sheer weight broke his ribs

I'm setting up a Euro 2012 Fantasy League, anyone want to participate? You select your own 23 man squad for your randomly assigned country, pick your own starting XI, tactics and subs, everyone votes on the games, and a Euro 2012 winner is crowned. Very similar setup to the Euro Division taking place but no transfers (obviously) between countries.

For those unsure about it taking up time, it's a one off tournament and you'll have 3 group games to do. If you do alright, a 4th game (Quarter Final) or 6 games (Semi final and final/3rd place playoff). So not exactly too much work.
