When you put Greenwood and Guscott in and no Gibbs, J. Roberts (man of the series 09 Lions), no greats like Gravell, then this gets silly....

What's up Hersh, afraid of competition....

Bet you will leave Gareth Edwards off the Scrum Half selections next even though he is recognised as not only the best scrum half ever, but the best player ever by his peers....

This thread has lost the plot already.... Doh

This is like me not including first, second and third place finish options in my 6 Nations poll for England. Although it was and still is a fact that they would only finish somewhere behind third place my article was edited. Yet HERSH is allowed to put in centres like Guscott over Scott Gibbs. Is this site English biased or what!

No Gravell? No Gibbs, even though Greenwood is there? I'd also place Nonu and Smith above most of those!!

I'm not taking part if the list doesn't have all the best possible players on there.

Tim Horan and Jaque fourie, between them you won't find a center pair who have scored more tries, and defensively they have been top class as well.

I have gone for Mike Gibson and Tim Horan. That said if Jason Little was in the list i would have gone for the Little Horan combo because in my mind, that was the best centre pairing ever.

What a joke

The list misses at least ten of the games best centers because the OP only started watching rugby in the late 1990s.

Add Bleddyn Williams, Dr Jack, Joe Stanley, Warrick Taylor, Bruce Robertson, Ian McRae.  Mike Gibson, John Dawes, Bill Osborne, Bill Davis, Ray Gravell, David Duckham, Peter Whipp, Gwyn Nicholls, Gainsford, Mannetjies Roux

Greatest centres of the last fifteen years. Most of the players above are under forty years old.

Can a mod maybe alter the poll to add a few more names.

For youngsters like the OP can view the players they don't know on you tube.

Why?

The games only been Pro for 16/17 years, lets face it most amateur players would stand a chance anyway.

Stop being bitter just because there are no Welshmen on the list. Pathetic.

Wow, Oldies don't count...? Pro am era difference.

Anyone who claims that kind of rubbish must be a teenager. Guys start watching some footage of games prior to 2003 and you might learn how wrong you are.

I have been a fan for a long time and trust me a lot of those guys I named, welsh, irish, English, kiwis and japies would all have been world class were they playing today.

Didnt say J Roberts was a great, said he was "Man of the Series 2009 Lions". As for Gibbs, why do you only think of the 1 try against England, I consider his complete career, including his Lions caps, without which Guscott would have been slaughtered. Why Greenwood, what has he done to be be included, why Guscott come that matter... oh, for the Lions tour I bet, so a single drop goal gets him in. Never mind, that if Jenks hadnt keep kicking the place kicks (5 pens) Guscotts DK would have meant for nothing, or more importantly if Gibbs wasnt there tackling for Guscott who couldnt tackle his way out of a paper bag....

The GREAT I mentioned, was Gravell. You cant really list those centres without including Grav. Never mind all the others you missed out, as mentioned by other posters...

....Bleddyn Williams, Dr Jack, Joe Stanley, Warrick Taylor, Bruce Robertson, Ian McRae. Mike Gibson, John Dawes, Bill Osborne, Bill Davis, Ray Gravell, David Duckham, Peter Whipp, Gwyn Nicholls, Gainsford, Mannetjies Roux, Jim Renwick and John Leslie ....

Hersh, you are loading the selection in order to get a "prefered" team... The thread has broken down, and will now become a WUMs paradise...enjoy the pointless excersise.... clap

Since there's no David Duckham it's very difficult to take the list seriously. I'll have to go for Sella and Grenwood, with BOD, Gibson and Guscott running very close.
No Gravell and Gibbs won't please our Welsh freinds either.

Good case for Roberts and Gibbs both being man of the series in their respective lions tours. Gibbs selected over Carling way back in 1993 too.

HERSH hasn't included so many of the greats of the game that this Poll is rapidly becoming irrelevant. It appears the same thoughts on this poll are coming from all nations NOT JUST WELSH...!

just deal with the fact that no Welshman is on the list.

What insults Hersh.

I think posters have just highlighted your lack of knowledge when it comes to rugby history, which without, it is difficult to put together a "Greatest" team poll as you are trying to do. I dont use the "lack of knowledge" as an insult, it is simply that you havent the experience (playing, watching, age) that other posters (as myself) do.

You say that Gravell just missed out on your list to players who arent fit to carry his boots. So please, perhaps you can let us have the criteria you used to create your shortlist.

Yep, that one backfired on you didn't it.. You didn't expect JPR to get the vote. It showed from the list of Wingers and then complete farce of Centres...

Not bothering to join in this WUM from now on, but I bet the Fly Half and Scrum Half lists will be hysterical...

I'm detecting a lot of tension in the ranks these last few days! Short fuses, sneers, fencing contests without the safety tabs on the end of the swords!

Is there something going down here? Oh it must be the nerves that comes from the Top of the Board. Yep, it's a ratty place up there. We miss it............

What is the point of this poll as everybody on here has there own bias, except me of course, so it will come down to a poll of which country has the most posters on 606v2. Wouldn't that be simpler?

Or let me choose the official 606v2 team and be content that it would be the best team full stop as I know that you all trust my judgement. OK

I'm beginning to think the same, why do they spoil every thread on 606?
