Re: SixNations round 4 Stats highlights
The turnover stats on ESPN are for turnovers conceded, not for turnovers made. Just to clarify.

No it is ball turned over by that player for the good of their team not the detriment.

Re: SixNations round 4 Stats highlights
Yeah Maes I think youre right, people are very unsure on that though. Its one of those stats thats a bit dodgy anyway, since often its not the credited player who did the work. Dickson has some stupid number to his name, but hes hardly Mccaw is he. Does anyone remember him making a big tackle, turning the man, leaping to his feet and stripping the ball? ( Ok Im setting myself up now for someone to find the 5 times he does that in the game!)
No he was just the one standing there to pick up the ball when a Cole or whoever came banging over the ruck clearing out the opposition.

It's ball they lost in turnovers. Only way it makes sense, I'm afraid. I presume it includes penalties too

Re: SixNations round 4 Stats highlights
Chequerd, its in the section with all the other " good things this player did" not lumped next to penalties. Being a nerd a checked a load of commentaries when we were having this debate before and found a couple of examples where a player had been turned over and there was no corresponding turnover stat. This may be ESPN being sh1t of course, the numbers are sometimes a bit hmmm even when we know what the stats stands for.
If anyone Welsh has Austin Healy on twitter can they ask him, he works for ESPN as an analyst so he should blooming well know.

Re: SixNations round 4 Stats highlights
Nope, it is turnovers lost. Not won. Otherwise why does it say a big 0 next to POM's name in that regard? And for SOB last week. Plus over the world cup it was 4 for Quade Cooper (which was quite clear) and if you believe it is turnovers won, then that means Warburton only won 1 turnover the entire world cup.
It is how many times you were turned over.

Must be turnovers conceded - Otherwise it would be the backrow, not the backs who have the high scores.
Cuthbert didn't win 2 turnovers - but he definitely knocked on at least once.

I don't think Healey is still working for them after his silly outbursts.

This. Unless you are all agreeing that Warburton made one turnover the entire world cup, and I think since then has made about 1 also? Same goes for a lot of 7s. If you still don't believe me, look up the international results over the past 12 months and see what it says for players such as Pocock and McCaw, obviously renowned turnover specialists.

Re: SixNations round 4 Stats highlights
Didn't spot this post before I posted something similar on a seperate post.
They are definitely turnovers conceded. If you add up the turnovers for each player in the team it matches the total entered under "Turnovers conceded" for that team on the "Match stats" tab.
