Re: Brook vs Hatton
I believe he is going to be on the televised bit but dont quote me on it, he's against a journeyman called lee noble, Astons a southpaw with very fast hands coming off two 1st round ko's so it should be fun while it lasts

Re: Brook vs Hatton
Sky showed one of Astons previous fights and he looked good but he stopped the guy early so it was hard to judge. He looks technically very good and Richie Woodhall is a big fan so he is definitely one to watch.
He was involved with the amateurs down at Sheffield so he clearly has some talent.

cant wait, im gunna be there too. cant see brook stopping hatton if alveraz couldn't, but wide pts decision, hatton having a few sucesses though, and giving brook his hardest fight so far.
big g, follow the 10,000 people all heading to the tram stop easiest way, you will have to pack on like sardines though.

Cant see a stoppage tbh, from watching the Alvarez fight whilst its clear Hatton is not the most skilled boxer in the world, he sure is tough, and Alvarez definately hits harder then Brook.

Brook has faster hands and better accuracy though. Saul just tried to hit anything he could, but not really landing any cleanly. Hatton will also be walking onto shots in this fight as he will come forward vs kell unlike vs Alvarez. Brook may not have the volume or power of Saul, but he will land cleaner shots and all it takes some times is a perfect counter on the button instead of a looping right hand that is partially blocked.
Not saying that there's going to be a knockout but saying kell won't KO hatton because Alvarez couldn't doesn't seem a great comparison even more so because record wise, kell has a higher knockout percentage than Alvarez did at welterweight

Re: Brook vs Hatton
I think if it gets to the mid-late rounds and Hatton can't find Brook and is missing but being tagged a lot, the ref may stop the fight.
That being said its more like to end up a UD for Brook.
I wonder how Kell will deal with Hatton if he is pinned against the ropes and doesn't get the chance to fight on the outside.
It will be interesting to see if Brook has any further tricks up his sleeve.
Can't wait for tonight, great night for the sport on a great day for us Leprechaun folk!!!

Re: Brook vs Hatton
I think Hatton is tough but one dimensional, won't come with anything different that we haven't already seen.
I think Brook wins by convincing UD looking forward to it Brooks biggest test to date.

Alvarez landed plenty of clean shots on Hatton. Also, most boxing fans understand that KO percentage often doesnt really represent how much power someone has (Donaire, Mckenzie spring to mind), you cant discard the fact that Alvarez was 2 pounds heavier then Hatton on fight night, whilst Hatton weighed in over so slighly heavier then Brook. Think your underestimating Hattons toughness abit, cant see Hatton getting stopped, more likely see something like 120-109.

I don't think you quite get what I wrote. I agree with everything you say, but I just didn't think it was right that people were thinking kell wont stop hatton because Canelo can't. Kell probably won't but it's not too far fetched to see it happen. Hatton took a bit of a beating vs Saul, and when he got hit on the break (didn't look to heavy a shot either) he took a knee and was really taking his time. He could have been pulled out at the end also as little was coming back.
Both Saul and kell have fought N'Dou and it wasn't the Mexican who was close to stopping him and that was also at 150. Matthew is very very tough but get hit enough then he might go down

Struggling to see what Hatton can do to alter this fight, can't get close enough to Brook and even if he could he doesn't have the dig to deter him.

Didn't you think right at the beginning Hatton seemed promising? It's all disappeared, Brook's picking him off now.

Styles make fights !! and Canelo will demolish Brook, Ortiz also would beat Brook easy. If this is the best welterweight Britain has to offer then Brook loses to most Welters around world.

Re: Brook vs Hatton
Ricky Hatton stopped Castillo yet the same Castillo went the distance with Mayweather!! So is/was Hatton better than Mayweather? STYLES MAKE FIGHTS, Brook is good but he throws wildly at times and I agree with someone above Khan v Brook would be a top fight.

The Castillo who Hatton beat was past his prime, the one who went the distance with Mayweather was in his prime.

PPV... I think you're underrating Brook.
What is a viable fight for him next though? Alexander?

He lost to Mayweather twice by decision and when he lost to Hatton he was on a winning streak for 6/7 fights beating Corales by K.O in a rematch, Casamayor and Julio Diaz along the way! My point still stands styles make fights and Brook v Alvarez/Ortiz would be 1 sided affairs.

Re: Brook vs Hatton
I don't think America would be interested in Brook v Kahn, hence me thinking it wouldn't make financial sense.
If Brook beats Alexander coming off the back of an excellent Maidana performance America would sit up and take note.

Im not underrating I just feel he is another hypejob by Brits, Devon is not a welterweight, Bradley would wipe the floor with Brook 'easy UD, Ortiz would beat him by K.o 'simply cos of the styles', Alvarez again 'late stoppage/UD. Khan v Brook is a top fight and both of them are made for each other. Im just pointing out too many people are mentioning names which are way above his level.

Mayweather won two very close contested hard fought desiscions, when Castillo hadnt lost a fight in 4 years, I think youll find that Castillo was not on a 6/7 winning streak before Hatton, having lost to Corrales 4 fights before, baring in mind how much wars like the two Corrales bouts take out of a fighter, it cant be said that the Castillo who Hatton beat was better then the the one Mayweather beat.
