If you're struggling to find players for your squad, use www.transfermarkt.co.uk and search for players from your country, it should give you several options for your squad.
Each country is allowed to call up a maximum of FOUR legends from days gone by (seeing as it's a fantasy tournament).
The definite rule on Legends.
Players who are currently still active can be called up as legends, but it will take up one of your 4 legends spaces. Also the four legends in your squad must be labelled as legends to signify they are your four legends in their prime. I agree that it might be better if it was purely players who had retired, but I will leave the rule open so anyone could choose someone from years gone by or recent times. It widens the pool of players to be honest.
For example, Thierry Henry would be the guy running around the MLS, but Thierry Henry (Legend) would be the guy in his prime at Arsenal. And no, you can't have two of the same player (one as legend and one as normal) as that would be stupid.
Congratulations to ncfc_Tooze and Germany! See you at World Cup 2014...
Week 6
Final - Germany 2-1 Italy (Ozil, Klinsmann) (Balotelli)
- Spoiler:
- Seeing as it's little over 2 months until the real thing, just wondering who'd be interested in taking part in a fantasy version of the tournament?
Basically, 16 countries are taking part, so if we get 16 participants (myself plus 15) we all get randomly assigned a country, pick our own 23 man squad for that country, then we play out the real fixtures for the Tournament.
You write out your starting XI, short tactics and substitutions and the fixtures will be voted on by everyone not in the same group, ie if you're in Group A you only need to vote on Groups B, C and D.
Pre-existing suspensions do not affect who you can pick, ie Rooney available for England, Toulalan and Anelka available for France, etc.
Transfers between countries are not permitted.
Quarter finals/semi finals/final will be voted on by anyone who isn't in that tie.
So, who's in?
Group A
Poland - sodhat
Greece - King Beer
Russia - TSC
Czech Republic - Crimey
Group B

Denmark - TBC

Re: Euro 2012 Fantasy League
I just checked myself and noticed you'd already researched it!
I mistook Netherlands's 4-0 win over Denmark as Germany's win which was only 2-0, so i'll correct it.
I knew you'd avoid Russia somehow

Re: Euro 2012 Fantasy League
Group B corrected.
And as far as Group D goes, Ukraine and Sweden had identical points, identical goal difference, identical goals scored.
Sweden qualify due to Ukraine v England being abandoned as neither side got tactics in. My game my rules.

Re: Euro 2012 Fantasy League
Have you got the semi's right?
Usually in these cup competitions you cannot face the team from your group until the final so it in one semi it would QF 1 v QF 3 and the other QF2 v QF 4.

7 lots of tactics, meaning;
France 0-2 Italy (default win)
And three games to vote on. If you're a part of one of the matches, vote on the other two and not your own.
Will sort out the voting page in a bit.

Then you could have taken 1 minute to copy and paste old tactics before Tuesday's deadline if it's that much of an issue.

Have to mark cherries down on this:
"Right we are the french, and we wont surrender"
It's just not true! Anyone else loving how this whole thing is about war jokes?

How serious is this? If it is serious deadlines should be met, if not that serious then it can be waived. It doesn't take two mins to copy and paste tactics

Yep I have decided that cherries won't be allowed as he missed the deadline. Not that hard to copy and paste tactics, hell I did it!
(PS. If Holt would have been selected in the Euro squad my mood would have been decidedly better and you would have gotten away with it. But he didn't so. Tough.)
