Terrible defending there from the Reds, just falling off tackles,
Lealiifano has been the Brumbies best back Steve, has a good running threat from 10 so keeps defences on their toes.

You need at least 1 more hooker Driver and you could be left short at prop during the AI's.

Need at least one hooker driver, I'd have 2 unless you had a strong one in your academy.
Too many back 3 players really, better areas to have depth in I think. Butnthat's just my opinion.

Genia really struggled. passing was off and bad calls. Higgy played well and Robinson put himself about. Davies defence is still awful!
Big win but cant see them threatening the better sides this year.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
When you get scragged as many times as that generally you would question the quality of the presentation of the ball. The reds
Are not rucking that golden metre past the ball it is a
Halfbacks nightmare. Slow badly presented ball.
Horwill impressed me as a leader last year but has been poor this year in that capacity. To be fair the reds injury list would rival wasps.
Thought gill was excellent today

Mat and his hookers - sure there is a tabloid sting just waiting to happen out of that sentence!
Driver - I'd make sure I had 3 players at no2, no9 and no10, one injury and you are screwed there - I've struggled with 3 hookers this year, espc now with Hartley suspended, Webber injured and Whitehead injured in this game! Only really got Mike Haywood left and he's injured in real life too.
Think you could make do with a young scrum half as Cowen is going to be available all year for you, but would definitely look at a new no10 as will either be guaranteed starters for their clubs next season?
Would reduce the number of centres and guys that play fb.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Gill was very good today - the Aussies have got three excellent young opensides - I saw him a few seasons ago when he captained the Aussie 7s team and played at the London 7s when he was 18 or so, sat next to an Aussie who said he was going to be the next best backrower going.
The aussies generally do crap at 7s because they use it as a way of giving their best youngsters experience of playing in front of big crowds, travelling etc - well worth a look at their team if you are after some good youngsters!

Gill was ok for me today, and I say that because he wasn't up against much. Brumbies looked far better at the breakdown when they brought Hooper off the bench.
Would have liked to have seen Gill v hooper from the start.

Strange time to rest Hooper. Reds are there for the taking. Surely the target of the s15 is to win your home games and the games against your other conference sides then see what you can get on the road.

I think it was tactical more than resting Steve, seemed to think the lad they brought on could do damage with ball in hand. Commentator said something about him having 16 carries in 20mins last game.

How was Morahan? He was good off the wing against Force I thought. Strong carries. Easy to forget he isn't 21 untill August. Looks about 34

The other lad with the carries not Hooper lol...
Surprised with many of the U20 signings getting the gametime this Super 15. I didn't expect Kitshoff to start a game but I think he's played everyone for Stormers and looked great for a ginger.
Is Morahan the lad who played FB?? If so not great, dropped a few clangers. Done ok in attack, remember one good one handed take.

Steve noticed you thought goosen would struggle against AP sides in this game. Why do you think that ?
Goosen has won a curry cup almost
Single handed and plays super 15 and is seen as bok material.
Interested in your opinion as almost everyone else
Has marked him well when I have played him. Pooly for example is a big fan.
Obviously we are in crunch period of season and I plan on playing him So keen to gauge things

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
I just think he is of a lower standard than most other first choice 10's. perhaps weakness isn't the right term but I wouldn't consider him better than most other 10's that he will likely face at crunch time and having the better 10 is an important factor in crunch games.

I won't be around over the weekend, so if anyone is able to do the results tomorrow after 12 I would be grateful.

Great game would have never taken devilliers to have more gas than Ben smith. Great try pietersen
Guest- Guest
Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Haha.....yea I really don't think he does.
If you watch closely it was actually a mistake by Smith rather than lack of gas. He was trying to hold JDV back allowing Poki to come across and take ball but misjudged and JDV got a boot in.
JDV played well actually and Hababa looks like he's got a bit of mojo back. Stormers defence is fantastic.

LD reckons Wasps will be back with the big guns soon:
http://www.espnscrum.com/premiership-2011-12/rugby/story/162489.html?CMP=OTC-RSS
Seems a little out of touch though:
""I know all clubs have to contend with injuries, but if you look at the scale and the personnel that have been injured these are just not injuries, they are long-term or retirements," he said. "There are the likes of Joe Worsley, Steve Thompson, Tom Rees and Dan Ward-Smith - and that is just this season alone.
"And if you look at last year with Phil Vickery and Raphael Ibanez, it's just one after another"
Somebody needs to tell him Ibabez retired about 4 years ago. What is it with pro's and not having a clue. Guscott is a similar case, always spouting off about players playing well when they didn't even get in team!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Watched the wasps game one seat behind varndell, simpson and a few others today - they weren't very happy with the ref - was easily the worst riffing performance I have seenn at a live game.
Daly was getting hit off the ball all the time and stormed off down the tunnel after the game - Biarritz def the better, experienced team but went through because of some shocking officiating!
Anyone see what caused Daly to get injured? Looked like a late hit but couldn't be sure

Kitchoff for stormers was
Great today. 20 years old and ok scrum wise against average scrummagers but ruck work
Immense. Great signing pooly. Said before he would be good. Apparently goosen and coonie great for cheetahs today. Ebersohn great player. For me la roux a pace merchant and not much else although effective.
Strauss for cheetahs has been immense I need to play him more. Sa has hooker to burn.
Future bright Sa. Jdj so classy for stormers also . Haskell has been poor in s15 his lack of hands apparent.
How bad were Toulouse today ?? Jauzion and servat legends but sad to see them today. Servat used to have top darts yet today and against Wales and a lot of t14 sides got picked off loads. Toulouse need to spend big have issues at 5,6,8,10,13,14 thought David and maestri went well. Maestri had zero lineout but great work around field very impressive

Dusatoir and David did
So well.
Think may go for Denton instead of
Etzbeth. Denton is mom most matches. Laid law useful
Also as is jones the Wing.
Edinburgh easy win for any of other sides in semi. Mike Blair so easily best jock 9.
Always have no idea how visser is rated and today was awful. He is like has
Never been coached. Sometimes chases
Kicks amazingly other times does
Not chase and is responsible for
Matavou scoring.
Matavou backed up
My assertion that he is worst defensive wing in Europe. Great try though.
Denton could be lion test
Starter.
2 nd seasons play will dictate

Looks like Southwell, Daly and Haughton are going to miss next weeks game, which means that Wasps will have a 7-1 split of forwards to backs on the bench as we've run out of backs!
